The Beauty of Letting Go and Wearing a New Crown
There was a time when my vanity table sparkled with name-brand makeup—Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Urban Decay, and other treasures that once defined who I was. They weren’t just products; they were symbols of a life I proudly lived. I was a beauty and fashion blogger, tapped by brands, stepping into events with confidence, living a glamorous single life. Each compact and lipstick held a memory, a whisper of the woman I used to be.
I’ve been holding on to these makeup for quite some time now. Not really using them, but just holding on. Like I’m afraid to let go of that woman from the past.
But today, as I look at these empties, I realize how easily I let them go. Once they had served their purpose, I didn’t hesitate to discard them. They no longer held value—they were simply remnants of a chapter completed. And that realization stirred something deeper within me: if I can release these objects without regret, why have I held on so tightly to versions of myself that no longer fit?
Slowly, gently, I am learning to let go. Not only of things I can touch, but of thoughts, expectations, and identities I once clung to. I am releasing the old narratives that defined me, making space for growth, for transformation, for the woman I am becoming.
Letting go is not about forgetting or denying the past. It is about honoring it—thanking it for shaping me—while stepping forward with grace and intention. The woman I was paved the way for the woman I am today. And now, I step into new shoes, wearing a new crown—one not adorned with labels or recognition, but with wisdom, love, and quiet confidence.
This is my gentle farewell to the past, and my wholehearted embrace of what lies ahead.
I hope this Good Friday, you can find the time to reflect on your own journey.
