Soft Luxe Staycations: Binondo Series - The Great Buddha, Curated Purchases from Eng Bee Tin, and Last Thoughts About Ramada

After buying a lot of stuff on the first floor, we headed upstairs to eat a light lunch. Mom was getting hungry. My son and I just ate, but we said that we will accompany her and will just order something light.

I took photos while waiting:

The Great Buddha

I love this ceiling. I feel like everything about this store was well thought out. Like a bunch of people really put their heads together and came up with lots of creative ideas.

They had a lot of merchandise on the second floor, too.

Keychains and bottle openers

Very pretty candle holders

These will be great for an outdoor party.

I'm always drawn to wooden tableware. In Baguio, I always look at the wooden spoons and bowls.

I think this is a pouch. Cute but cumbersome to bring.

Lots of dragon and kitty magnets

They also had these mini Cebu Pacific and Air Asia planes!

This is sungka. It's our local version of mancala.

Angpao. You put money here and give to your loved ones on Lunar New Year.

I think these are for phones

Loving this Philippine Flag bead keychain

Sitting Down to Eat

Can we take these wooden stools home??

We always order mango smoothies

We ordered some wanton noodle soup. We didn't know that it came in a huge bowl! Our server, Jefferson, overheard me say that we should've just ordered 2 and said, "I can cancel the 3rd order ma'am." How, nice! Jefferson is a super staff! He is very attuned to the needs of his customers, he is quick and attentive, he anticipates our needs! He's also very efficient. Kudos to him!

More Eng Bee Tin Photos

While eating, my SIL texted to ask me to buy some hopia for them. So, we went back down after eating to shop some more.

Mooncake tins

Second Round of Purchases

If you buy 12 packs of hopia, you get a gift box for free. That's for my MIL.  I paid 20 pesos ($0.34) so that my SIL can have her hopia and fish crackers in a box, too.

My Curated Purchases from Eng Bee Tin

Back to Ramada

It was already raining while we were still at Eng Bee Tin. After paying, we went back to the hotel to book a car.

They have such a pretty lobby that we took photos first.

This is Jeff. He was our porter. He is one of the few porters I've encountered who showed an excellent level of service. He took care of our needs. He always assisted my mom. Our bags were taken care of while we were at Eng Bee Tin. He offered me juice when we got there. He's always happy, always smiling. This man took his training to heart and really applies what he learned to his daily work and encounters with the guests. If anyone from Ramada Admin is reading this, please give this guy a promotion! My mom and I would happily write commendation letters. Kudos and finger snaps to you, Jeff!

Our stay at Ramada was short, but sweet and special because of the level of service that Jeff and Edward (I think that's his name), and the rest of the staff from the front desk to housekeeping to engineering gave us. Hands down, Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central is one of the best hotels we've stayed at. The room was clean, the toiletries lovely, the security was great, the service superb, and the overall vibe was wonderful. My son and I were there for one night and 2 days, but we really enjoyed it. I will definitely go back for a longer stay...or when I want to go shopping comfortably at Divi and Lucky Chinatown again! 😁

I took some photos of the church while waiting outside.

When I saw the Ramada letters, I realized that I haven't taken a photo of the facade!

Thanks to Jeff for taking this photo. And a special shoutout to the Philippine Coast Guard who posed for this photo! Thank you for your service! We chatted after this photo. I asked them if it was alright for them to appear in my blog. They said yes!
