Time for a Summer Makeup Kit Makeover! (Part 1)

Summer is really crazy here in Manila! I kinda wish I was still working in an office where there is air conditioning for 9 hours. I don’t know how I’m surviving this heat. I can’t even go to the mall to cool down. Anyway, since it’s summer, I’m sure that everyone has changed their wardrobe to fit the temperature. But, have you thought about giving your makeup kit a makeover? You should! Here are my tips for a summer makeup kit. First, you need a bright summery makeup kit. I just found out that I don’t have any summer makeup kits! My Kenzo kit is the closest one I got and it does not even remind me of summer…it reminds me of spring (or Christmas even)! Next, use whatever foundation you are comfortable wearing but if you can find a brightening sun powder, add this to your kit. I use the brightening sun powder from Laneige. This is SPF50+ PA+++. It looks new because I keep forgetting to use it. I should really put this in my kit. This powder smells so good. Then for the eyes, ...

Heroine Make Liquid Liner

I haven’t been well the past few weeks that is why I’ve been absent from blogging. Heck, I couldn’t even prepare my own meals so I ask whoever is available at home to get me some food. I woke up feeling better this morning so I got up and fixed myself some breakfast which you will be able to read about here . I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about this product yet. This was the last stock from Hyphen so I got it for myself. This is the best liquid liner I’ve ever tried. The tip is sturdy yet flexible when you need to do a cat eye. I also love the fact that the liquid liner itself is not runny so it does not get all over my eye lid. It’s very easy to apply and dries up pretty quickly. It does not smudge and lasts the whole day. Actually, the packaging has a photo of the heroine crying showing that the liquid liner will last even with a drum of tears. You know how exaggerated anime/manga characters cry. So that’s how strong this product is. Even though it lasts a lon...

October Cosmetics

As mentioned in my previous post,  I will be grouping my cosmetics monthly so that I will be able to use all of them. If you only knew how much cosmetics I have! I really want to use and finish them all. So I hope I can have good results with this experiment. Here are my October Cosmetics: I know it looks chaotic but don’t worry! I grouped them and took individual photos. Let’s start with the face: I seriously need to finish my Laura Mercier cream foundation (Bamboo Beige). It’s hanging by a thread and I think I only have 3 uses left for this tube. Next is the Palgantong Powder in Pearl Beige. I haven’t used this yet although I have used it on my clients. Let’s see if it can at least live with my acidic face for a couple of hours. This Benefit That Gal primer is also hanging by a thread so I better finish it fast. Next is Benefit High Beam and ELF HD Undereye Setting Powder (to be blogged soon). Lastly, the Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic kit. This is another produc...

Kiss Me…

..Cosmetics that is. This is the Heroine Make 5th Anniversary Mascara and Remover set from Hyphen . I’ve been using this in a lot of my EOTD’s lately because it’s more gentle on my eyes compared to my other mascaras. The mascara delivers length and volume.  I like the fact that it doesn’t clump and doesn’t dry up easily. The remover is a bonus although it’s a bit awkward to use it. It also has a wand. It looks like a mascara but instead of making your lashes darker, it brings it back to normal. I have absolutely no idea if I’m doing it correctly but I apply this remover as though I’m applying mascara then I wipe it off using a cotton pad. I also wipe off the wand before putting it back in the tube. I think this is good if you’re on the go but I find it useless for everyday use.   My regular makeup remover removes everything. Using this remover is just an extra step. It is quite effective though. Here’s the mascara wand: It does a nice job of separating my lashe...
