Book Update

In the midst of all the chaos that is the La Salle Bazaar, preparing for my Clinique Birthday Party and the Ateneo Bazaar, I was surprised that I was able to finish 4 books! For One More Day is a very touching story. I had teary eyes when I was reading this that’s why people were giving me weird looks as I was reading this at the walkway in La Salle while waiting for our ride. This book makes you appreciate life and the people in your lives (that matter) more. It reminds you to always tell the people you love, that you love them. The Bhagavad-Gita, of course, is a classic book. There are a lot of things that are kinda hard to apply to our everyday modern lives but this book made me step back and examine my life differently. Sure, I’m not Buddha but learning to control oneself (especially in shopping, haha!) is a gift. I’ve learned a lot in the Style Strategy. It made me look at my closet and shopping habits differently. I’ve learned a few tricks on how to shop wisely. The Twenties...

Book Update: Belle de Jour

If you think that I’m neglecting my books, well I’m not. I was able to finish the last of my magazines, which is Elle, yesterday and now I’m starting with a new one. Upon searching my archives, I’ve discovered that I haven’t made a post about this last book that I finished. The beginning of this book was quite boring. What made me continue was the witty remarks made by Belle. There are a lot of witty, crazy and smart quotes but one of my favorites is, “Boys, we don’t dress up for you. We dress up for ourselves or to impress other women. But we don’t dress up for you.” Now how true is that??? I love it! What are you reading nowadays?

Shopaholic & Baby

I’m almost done with the Shopaholic series. One more book to go but I’m waiting for that to have a smaller paperback copy so that it will be cheaper. Becky Bloomwood is hilarious most of the time. She makes me smile, makes me laugh, makes me cry. There are times when I want to put down the book because I’m getting annoyed with her antics already but then something comes up to make me continue reading. She makes me appreciate the people in my life even more. And yeah, makes me want to go shopping every time. My favorite quote: She’s a red-haired bitch and I hate her. I hope I can finish the new book in time. Soooo busy! My cousin and I are preparing for a bazaar. Yes, after a 2-year hiatus, I am going back to the bazaar scene. Watch out for that. What’s keeping you busy these days?

Book Update

MB and I stayed home last Sunday and I had a nice afternoon reading No Reservations by Anthony Bourdain. I was able to finish it. It was such a good read! I wanted to reward myself today but I just couldn’t find anything nice to buy except for the small bottles from Beabi which I needed to transfer the last bits of my facial wash into. I have this habit of chopping up my facial wash tubes to get the remaining product. It’s amazing how much product you can still get inside. What are you currently reading?
