Soul Notes: For Your Journal Tonight

Come sit with me for a while. I have my journal open, and tonight I’ve been thinking about something I suspect I do more often than I realize. I turn healing into another thing I need to accomplish. I want to know when I’ll be over something. When I’ll stop thinking about it. When something that hurt will finally stop hurting. When I’ll feel like myself again. And somewhere along the way, healing quietly becomes another deadline. Another invisible date on a calendar. Another thing I can somehow be late for. But maybe healing doesn’t work particularly well under project management. Maybe there are things I will understand quickly and things I’ll have to revisit again and again. Maybe I’ll feel completely fine one day and unexpectedly tender the next. That doesn’t mean I’ve gone backwards. It means I’m still moving through it. I remember one day, many years ago, when I had fibromyalgia. I lived in constant pain. I just couldn’t get a good day. And then one day, in the office...

Soul Notes: For Your Journal Tonight

What do I want to flirt with this season? Not necessarily who . What. Maybe you want to flirt with a new version of yourself. A hobby you’ve been curious about. A color you’ve always thought wasn’t “you.” A different way of dressing. A city you’ve never explored. An idea that seems slightly ridiculous. A dream you aren’t ready to commit to yet. There are moments we don’t always acknowledge right away. Moments when we felt… unseen. When we spoke and no one really listened. When we showed up and still felt like we weren’t fully there. So here’s something gentle you can sit with tonight. When was the last time you felt like background noise? Not just what happened. But how it felt in your body. What you needed in that moment… and what you didn’t receive. And maybe, if you’re ready… Did you stay? Or did a part of you quietly begin to pull away? Write it down. Don’t filter it. Don’t make it smaller than it was. This space is yours. If you want to explore this deeper, you can read my full piece here: 👉 When People Treat Me Like Background Nois e Maybe, like me, you’ll have some realizations and revelations about yourself that you’ve been trying to hide or bury. Maybe ton...
