Unexpected Lip Colors I’ve Come to Love

I’ve always been a pink lipstick kind of girl because that’s what my mom always wore. Then I grew up and added red to my collection. But that was it – pinks and reds. I’ve never ventured into the unknown world of bright pinks or browns or neutrals. Then I studied makeup artistry and I was introduced to a whole new world of color. Here are some unexpected lip colors that I never dreamed I would wear but have come to love. Bobbi Brown Bikini Pink, MAC Koi, Kiss Me, Too Faced, NARS Schiap, Kiss Me. Here are swatches: I don’t wear these everyday, only on special occasions and when I feel extra glam. The most used shade is Bikini Pink although I have to top this off with my pot rouge to make it pop. Schiap turns into a deep pink on my lips because I’m acidic. The neutrals are great and I have yet to use the Too Faced Luster Liner.

Melting

On the second day of the new year, I melted lipstick! I got this dollface palette from a bazaar last year and I just slapped on the colors that I cut off. Today, I finally had the time to melt the colors and make them a bit more presentable. I put sticker labels on the cover so I know what shades and what brands the lipsticks are. The problem is, I already forgot most of them and I already threw out the tubes. Whether you’re a professional makeup artist or you’re just someone who wants convenience with her lipstick tubes (not to mention all that extra space in your vanity) here’s a simple how to: Materials: Spoon candle matches a small spatula to scoop out every last bit of lipstick a palette You just cut off a portion of the lipstick with the spoon or with a knife (if you’re OC) then melt over the candle. Be careful that the edges of the spoon don’t come in contact with the flame/smoke otherwise your lipstick will end up with black specks.  When everything is mel...
