Yes, Pigs Can Fly!

We interrupt the regular beauty posts to give way to a special request. Salmoncat asked me how my cats were and requested that I make a post about them. So, I give you this. This is Sapphire, my pig. I mean, cat: Sappy (as I fondly call him) is the new Alpha. His older brother, Dylan (my smartest and most favorite cat) died a few days before Christmas. Now he’s the eldest among our cats.  Sapphire is my second biggest cat. My biggest cat was Chintzy. Actually, he was my mom’s cat. Chintzy was huge.  And he was long.  He had a long tail, long body and long arms and legs. I’ll look for a photo of Chintzy and write about him. My sister claims that she owns Sapphire but I’m still the one that Sapphire obeys. Sure, he likes it when my sister feeds him but on days when we need to get him to the vet, he relaxes more when I’m around. He’s actually not feeling very well when I took these photos as there’s a problem with his gums. We will be taking him to UP one of these ...

What’s a Ponchinello?

A Ponchinello is a cat that looks like a body builder: Exhibit A Actually, all you can see here is his dirty nose. This is my only cat that has huge muscles. His nape and shoulders are pure muscle. His forelegs are bigger too compared to his siblings. Well, he is a Manx so that explains the legs but the rest of his body, I don’t know how he got that. His mom is ChaCha, by the way (also a Manx). Exhibit B I couldn’t take a decent photo of him because he was too fidgety. He’s dirty because he just got back from making his usual rounds in the neighborhood (inside the confines of our gate). Exhibit C I was finally able to take a quick shot of his muscles: Exhibit D If you touch those parts that I’ve encircled, you’ll feel that they are hard, like touching a huge bicep. I have no idea if this cat does weights at nights… He may be a bad boy on the outside but Ponchi is a very sweet cat. He likes snuggling up to me and likes to be hugged (just not in front of his siblings. He...

My Miracle Cat Lauren

Lauren is about 6 years old in human years. He's the second eldest among the siblings. A few years back he was diagnosed with a liver problem. We didn't know exactly what kind because back then we didn't have the money to get a blood test for him. So what the doctor did was assume he was having liver problems and gave him meds for that. His whole body turned yellow that time and he was so weak. Treatment included everyday trips to the vet to have him dextrosed. I insisted on taking him everyday instead of confining him because I wanted to be the one to take care of him. This was a hard task. My first cat, Tammy, is a street cat. Almost all my cats came from her. Yes, she was that fertile! Almost all my cats were born in the house so they are domesticated. They might not have a proper breed but they are good, smart and loving. Most of my cats don't like going out. They prefer to stay inside the house, playing, eating and sleeping. They're happy viewing the outside wo...
