Teach or Treat?

What I like about Clinique is that they let you experience the product first without pressuring you to purchase. When I was new to Clinique, I was given a skin consultation, typing a makeover and was even given basic makeup lessons. I never felt pressured to purchase. I was also given samples to try at home. For those who are not familiar with the brand, they give generous samples, travel size ones and not products in sachets that you can only use once. These samples can be used for a week, allowing you to really experience the effects of the products. It didn't take a week for me though. I was sold what with the excellent customer service and the impressive array of products.  That was many years ago. Today, Clinique has gone a step further by launching the Teach or Treat You service. You can either get a sample or you can experience the product at the counter and be given a demo. The beauty consultants will also give you a ton of useful information on how to use ...

The Doctor is In Clinique Event at Shangri-La Mall

Last Saturday, cousin C and I went to Shangri-La Mall to attend the Doctor is In event at the Clinique counter. Check out these photos. Macarons from Bizu were served.  These are the limited edition sets. Get them while they are still around. The set on the left are 5 small bottles of perfumes. The one on the right are 7 lipsticks designed for each day of the week.  I really like this lippy set. There's cousin C waiting for the doctor.  You can get this bag free for every Php4,500 purchase.  Busy, busy, busy. Guest doctor for the event was Dr. Gina Banate, MD, DPDS who is a licensed dermatologist and member of the Philippine Dermatological Society. Guests got to have a personal consultation with the doctor. I asked her a few questions and I will be sharing the things that I've learned from her in my next post so watch out for that.

Master the No Makeup Look with L'Oreal

We interrupt regular programming with the latest from L'Oreal. Yesterday, my cousin and I had the privilege of being invited to L'Oreal's No Makeup Look Workshop.  This is Ms. Verna Marin, Chief MUA of L'Oreal Philippines. We learned a lot from her. I really enjoy attending these kinds of workshops to further my craft.  Joining her is Tere, our model for the day. Hi Tere if you are reading this! Ms. Verna did all the works on Tere but in the end, she looked effortless and pretty, the perfect no makeup look. Of course we all know that we need to cleanse, tone and moisturize our skin. The next step is priming. She used this new product from L'Oreal, which I will discuss more in another post, to prep Tere's face. She then followed it up with a foundation and concealer. L'Oreal's foundation is number 1 in the world and for good reason. I tried their True Match foundation and it was love at first try. I will discuss this...

LYB Members Only Party

I got an e-invite to The Body Shop’s Members Only Party a few weeks ago. It said that I can take a friend with me so I naturally thought about bringing my best friend M and her baby girl. I consider them my family. I will do anything for them. It’s great that we get to spend so much time together this year. M takes care of her little one while I do most of my work at home so we both have our own time. We can go out whenever we want to. The party was scheduled at 2 pm. I passed by the boutique at Greenbelt at 10 minutes before 2 and nothing was happening so I proceeded to GB1 to meet M and her baby. We went to the boutique at 2:30 PM. Well, first of all, there was no party atmosphere. The girl who was supposed to greet us was talking to another person. I asked the ladies (who I assumed were supervisors or store managers or people from marketing because they weren’t in uniform) about the party. She asked for my name and made us sign the attendance sheet. We were given welcome gift...

Bye, Bye Dark Circles

I know this is an overdue post but forgive me as I had the SuperSale bazaar to attend to a day after this event. I was there bright and early as I know everybody from Bobbi Brown was excited and I wanted to be there to show my support. After all, I got the invite more than a month before this event was even given a specific date. And true enough, everybody was at their best. Here are photos: The event was held at the Grand Mall area. When I got there, people from the PRESS were being entertained. Oh boy, did they have fun with the makeovers and the photo sessions. That’s Kai Vinson’s spot. Of course, he was the leader of the pack. The Bobbi Brown team was in full force. Here’s Dennis from Shangri-La getting busy with a client: Here’s Owell working his magic on Sugar: Ms. Mona, the counter manager was uber busy! She was walking back and forth from the counter inside the mall to the event outside, in heels nonetheless! This photo was taken after the event. I couldn’t get ...
