Black Bamboo

I am on the hunt for a good makeup remover. If you can recall, I'm using this makeup remover from TFS to remove makeup on my face. But since this is cream-based, I won't be able to use it on all skin types. Good thing I found this at TFS: I initially used this only for eye makeup removal but the other day I went to TFS to ask if they have a water-based makeup remover for the face. The SA said that it was out of stock so I asked if I could use the Black Bamboo Lip & Eye Makeup Remover for the face. She said yes. When I got home I tried it immediately. It was a success! I didn't use this to remove all my makeup though. I'm saving this for client use. I used the fruity makeup remover for the residue. Water-based makeup remover is great for oily skin. I have combination/dry skin and if I use this product too much (say when I'm doing several EOTD's), my skin tends to hurt because of too much dryness. Hmmm... That leaves me thinking. Maybe I should include t...

I Want it Pink!

So while we’re in the subject of makeup removal, let me share another one of my Etude House finds: I already have the Eye and Lip makeup remover (the blue one) but I find that it’s not effective in removing mascara. So I trooped to EH SM Makati and bought this Mascara Remover for Php198. I like the oil/solution combo. It makes the overall look very pretty. Very princessy indeed. The smell is much like the blue one. Effectiveness is very good. I just dab a cotton pad on my eyelashes then I’m left with clean lashes and lids. Yes, it also removes eye makeup! Don’t forget to shake the product first before applying! The only thing I don’t like about this is it stings my eye like crazy whenever I accidentally put some in. It hurts so bad that one day I swore never to buy this again. But honestly, it’s more economical to buy this than the Eye and Lip makeup remover unless of course, you use lipstick that’s hard to remove. I think I will buy this again and just be careful every time I r...

Fruity Makeup Remover

I have been using this makeup remover for months now and I love it! It’s as simple as that. I’ve been using the Etude House Makeup Remover before I discovered this. At first I thought there wasn’t any difference but last night definitely made this TFS makeup remover a winner: So what’s that thing that I’m talking about? It doesn’t make my face oily. You know that effect after you wipe off your makeup with a makeup remover (Pond’s, Etude House)? Your skin feels somewhat oily/greasy. I have that same effect with Etude House. I wipe my face with a wet tissue afterwards to get rid of the oil but after a few minutes, I’m stuck with an oily face again. On the other hand, The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Cream had none of that. Sure, my face feels a bit oily after wiping the product off but once I wipe my face with a wet tissue then that’s it. I am left with soft, smooth skin. Want more proof? I had an attack last night and took a nap for about an hour or two. When I woke up, I immediatel...

Etude House Lip & Eye Makeup Remover

I cannot bear to say Etude House Lip & Eye Remover like what it says on the bottle. It’s just too funny and scary at the same time. I’ve been using this for about 6 months now, maybe more. I’m very satisfied with it. At first I was irritated with the smell but I guess my nose got used to it. The Maybelline eye makeup remover is better smelling. I’m comparing the Etude House Lip & Eye Makeup Remover with that of Maybelline in this post. For the price, EH is cheaper by one peso but it packs more product. Performance is the same as Maybelline’s. Both are a nice blue shade and use the same formula of oil + another liquid. Aside from price, there’s another characteristic of this makeup remover that I like better than Maybelline. It does not make my eyes cloudy. With the Maybelline makeup remover, I have to wait a few minutes for my eyes to clear up. When I first used Maybelline, I got scared when the cloudiness stayed even after blinking so much so I ran downstairs and washed ...
