My Allergy-Friendly Lotion

Having chronic urticaria is very hard. I used to regard allergies as something trivial, something that one shouldn't worry about. It was only after I went through a horrible life-threatening experience with this condition that I understood the magnitude of it. I didn't realize how hard it is for people who have allergies to look for allergy-friendly food and toiletries until my doctor told me to change my lifestyle and use only allergy-friendly products. I am so glad I found most of them in Healthy Options. I already told you about the shampoo and conditioner  I got. Today, let's talk about this wonderful lotion that has helped me through that ordeal. This is the Alba Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion. This is the original variant and is unscented, perfect for anyone with allergies. It has no harsh chemicals. I have very dry skin to start with and with the addition of steroids, my skin turned flaky. Even my hands were so rough and dry because of the steroids. I badly ...

Upping My Sun Protection

After this event and my conversation with the guest dermatologist , I thought about getting really serious about my sun protection. I use a few products every now and then but this time, I was determined to make it a part of my daily regimen.  Fortunately, I went on an impromptu trip to Watsons before leaving for Singapore last year. I discovered this Sun Protect and White Sunscreen from Nivea. It's safe to apply on the face. I was really scared, I have to admit because I have super sensitive skin but turns out, I have nothing to worry about. The blue logo has been a trusted brand in my house for many years. I am so glad I tried this. It's not sticky at all. It actually feels like moisturizer, just a tad thicker in consistency. It easily gets absorbed by my skin. I'm not really sure if it gives me a white cast because I am acidic but I think you can easily cover that up with foundation or even this product .  I wanted to stock up on a few travel toiletries and...

STEAMCREAM

I’ve been meaning to try STREAMCREAM for the longest time but I still have a ton of lotions in my stockpile that I keep putting off buying it. One day, I was at Beauty Bar and needed some retail therapy as I was having a rotten time and I decided to just go ahead and buy one tin. I’m sure glad I did! I got this one as it’s my sign. There are many designs in Beauty Bar but I settled on this one. I can always go back for more. If it didn’t work out, at least I can still use the tin can. What is STEAMCREAM, by the way? Well it’s a handmade skin care product made in the UK and Japan. It uses high-quality natural ingredients that are fused together using a shot of steam. The result is a very light cream that feels so luxurious on my skin. You can use it for your face, hands and body. I’m scared to use it on my face as you know I have very sensitive facial skin so I use it on my tummy. If you’ve never given birth, you wouldn’t understand my situation. My skin was stretched out too ...

Clinique Repairwear Intensive Eye Cream

I got this as a GWP. I only use Clinique Eye Creams because it’s the only brand that caters to my sensitive skin. I finished one jar and so my favorite Clinique Consultant at Rustan’s gave me this to try. I only use this when I go out. I don’t want to put too much product on my face when I’m just at home because I tend to break out plus my eyes are too sensitive and they become itchy if I put products every single day. Although I don’t use this daily, I can truly say that it works. I don’t have puffiness and dark circles on my eye area. If I lack sleep, it does not show when I use this. I was scared to use this at first because Baby said that this is a stronger product than the one I’m used to. I’m glad that it’s not too harsh on my skin. I think a full sized jar costs around Php2,000+ because that’s the price of my regular eye cream. I’d like to try Benefit’s eye cream next time. Have you tried that yet? If you’ve blogged about it, please leave a link in the comments s...

Love and Beauty Grapefruit Lotion

It’s no secret that I love citrusy scents. That’s the reason why I got this. We had this at Hyphen but now it’s sold out. It’s a very affordable body lotion that smells divine in my opinion. It’s non-greasy and leaves my skin smooth for a short time. I have very, very dry skin and only Aveeno works but I don’t like using Aveeno everyday as it is very heavy on the skin so I use other lotions. I just apply several times during the day to compensate. This is my current body lotion. I have been itching to finish this tube just because I’m excited to try all the lotions and body butters that my best friends gave me for Christmas. Surprisingly, I didn’t get any allergies from this lotion considering it’s not from a well known lotion brand. It’s a good everyday lotion if you have normal skin. The scent also lingers on my skin for a long time so that’s a plus.

Dove Go Fresh Energizing Gift Pack: Thank You, Phoebe!

This is my first time to win in a blog contest. So a big THANK YOU goes out to Phoebe ! Phoebe is one of my favorite bloggers. I like the way she writes plus she takes fabulous photos. This set includes the Dove Go Fresh energizing bars, deo and beauty body wash. I'm afraid I'm allergic to the bars because of the scrub beads. It's a pity as they smell amazing. So MB gets the beauty bars and my mom got the deo. I don't really mind because the body wash is perfect for me. It's Dove in liquid form! You only need a little to get a good lather. I made the mistake of putting too much on my bath lily the first time I used this. I thought, because the wash was almost cream-like in texture that it won't lather up as much. Big mistake. The lily was still very bubbly and full of the product when I finished taking a bath. I wanted to cry while rinsing it off. You know how cheap I can get with products. So now, I very carefully put Dove on my bath lily because I don't ...
