My beauty routine was simplified down to just the bare basics when my urticaria came out. I've always had sensitive skin but this chronic urticaria was a new thing in my system. It only started about two years after I gave birth. I didn't have these allergies before so I had a hard time adjusting. I had to be careful with heat, food and my beauty products and toiletries. It was really hard during those active months. I hated the wheals that came out. I hated how they itched and sometimes burned. I hated the fact that I had to give away most of my products. I've been using the Vichy spray to cool down my skin and it was running out so I needed to find a replacement. I got my bottle in Singapore and Vichy is not available here yet so I needed an alternative. Avene has already caught my eye before but I didn't really pay any attention to the brand. Saizen Daiso is having a Hello Kitty festival so I asked MB if we could visit the Market! Market! branch to check out what’s on offer last Saturday. There were tote bags, eye masks, contacts cases, eyelash cases, combs, face towels, etc. I got these: I needed a rat tail comb and this was the last black one. The other one is white. I also got these nail files. There are two designs. I initially wanted to buy the tote but I put it back because I already have tons of shopping totes plus the size of that will just not suffice. If I bring a shopping tote with me, that means I’ll be buying a lot so I need a big bag. I also wanted to buy the set of 3 cups but they were too small and I’m a big water drinker. I also got this water bottle: I liked the green one but my husband said that he liked this better. It’s very rare that my husband offers his opinion so I got this lavender one instead. I recently blogged about the Hello Kitty lipbalm being a disaster (just for me). This is another Hello Kitty lipbalm but in cherry flavor. It’s more pink than the strawberry one but still goes on clear. I also didn’t like this lipbalm because of the overwhelming smell and flavor. If I wanted to eat candy, I will eat candy. I just don’t like lipbalms that have too much flavor in them. On the other hand, I truly love this: This is Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Glow in Mixed Berry. It smells and tastes just right. I’m not sure if the 8-hour promise of moisture is true because I’ve been using all red lipsticks and they tend to dry out my lips. I guess this lipbalm works with other lipsticks just not matte ones. If I’m not mistaken, this costs only Php89 while the Hello Kitty lipbalm costs Php99. I have another Baby Lips lipbalm which is also great. I’ll blog about that soon.

I’m a sucker for lip balms especially cute ones like the one in the photo above. I got this at Watsons for Php99. This is strawberry flavored. It’s cute but I don’t like it. I am not a huge fan of strawberry flavored products but I can tolerate most of the products that I tried (i.e. Nivea lip balm) but this one was really overwhelming. The smell and the taste were just too much for me. I’ve only used this once. It’s a good lip moisturizer but it’s just not for me. I’m thinking of giving this to my cousin or just selling it in a blog sale.
