The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash

This is my current facial wash. It’s cheaper than my favorite The Face Shop cleanser but has the same effect. It clears up my skin and helps heal any breakouts. This is my first bottle and I’m already halfway through. MB will be using this soon and I’m sure he will like it too. The product is light and smells like the tea tree spot treatment. If I have it too long on my face, it stings a bit and has a minty effect so I make sure to rinse it off quickly. I will probably hoard this once it goes on sale. This is great to use if you are prone to breakouts especially when that time of the month arrives.

Deep Clean?

I don’t think so. Y’all know that I use Clinique’s 3-Step System but a few weeks ago I developed rashes and a few pimples so I tried using this: Huge mistake. I ended up with more rashes and pimples that covered  half of my right cheek and my chin. I only used this for 4 days and ended up like that. I stopped using it and went to Clinique for a consultation. Turns out, my skin is Type 3 now. It’s because of the changing weather. They gave me samples and I tried them and I’m happy to report that I only have a few rashes left. I really feel bad about this product as it’s very affordable, it has a nice smell and I really feel that it would have been great had I had normal skin. So I guess the moral of the story for me is to not try any other product and just stick to what works. Have you ever had a product disaster like mine?

Mung beans for your face

Today, we will talk about munggo . I love ginisang munggo (sauteed mung beans) but unfortunately, my knees hurt whenever I eat this dish so I try to avoid it as much as possible or try to resist it anyway. Luckily, The Face Shop offers mung beans in a different form: You may recognize this photo from a haul post back in October. I’ve been using the Herb Day Cleansing Foam in Mung Beans ever since and I can truly say that I’m very satisfied with it. The label says for all skin types. I did have a few rashes on my first week of usage but I think that’s because my skin was still adjusting. After that, I didn’t have break outs anymore. I like the scent. You’ll be surprised that it smells differently from what we believe to be a mung bean’s scent. It lathers nicely with the bubble net but you can also use it in its original form as it is very creamy. Just be careful when you press the tube as the product slips out very easily. It’s not a thick cream like Pond’s. The color is a nice gre...

Another Tea Cleansing Foam

This is my second Etude House Happy Teatime Cleansing Foam. The first one was milk tea. This is peach. The SA said this is one of their best sellers as it has a whitening effect. True to her word, it does give me a brightening and slightly whitening effect after I wash my face. It also leaves my skin smooth and a little bit tight. The texture is thick and creamy and is perfect for bubble nets. Put just a small amount in the bubble net then rub to produce a creamy foam. This is not, however, good for removing makeup. You still need a makeup remover then just use this as a final wash. I use this every morning to prep my skin for makeup and/or moisturizer application. It doesn’t make my skin oily but on really cold days, it does make my skin a bit dry. The only thing I don’t like about this product is the scent. I find the peach scent too irritating. My allergies flared up on my first week of use. Now, after a few months of usage, my senses have finally adjusted to it. I will not re...

Olive Cleanser

I have no idea why I haven’t posted a review of this product yet. It has been sitting in my archives since August and I’m almost done with the bottle. I was tinkering with my camera settings that’s why the dark shots I use this cleanser every night to get rid of leftover traces of makeup. I use my Etude House makeup remover first then my Maybelline eye and lip makeup remover. I take out the oily feel with some wet wipes. The St. Ives Olive Cleanser is my final wash. I’ve also tried using just this to remove makeup. It’s quite effective, I must say but it doesn’t take out mascaras or eye liners that well. But for foundation, eye shadows and blush, this works nicely. It’s gentle on my sensitive skin and does not dry me out. I’ve noticed significant improvement on my skin since I started using this cleanser. I no longer get rashes after bathing so that means, my skin is not dry. The spots on my skin are gradually fading. But I believe this is not entirely because of the cleanser. ...
