Dealing with Rough Skin

I have 3 problem areas that are always dry and rough – my elbows, knees and heels. I think most of you have the same problem as well. It doesn’t help that I had a lot of wounds and bruises when I was a kid in these areas as I was always out playing on the streets. When I got older, I still had a lot of wounds due to my sports. My elbows and knees were really battered and bruised.  I’d like to share with you what I do to get rid of rough skin. Elbows I always apply lotion right after I take a bath. I have no particular lotion for my elbows. I just apply whatever body lotion I’m using at the moment. I also scrub them twice a week. I use this: After washing my hands, I apply lotion to my hands and elbows. I don’t forget this step. Last year, I had really rough, patchy elbows and I made sure to apply lotion throughout the day after washing my hands. This is my current hand lotion: If you like resting your elbows on your desk, avoid this practice as much as possible...

Blushing Nectarine Body Lotion

This is another item from M’s Christmas gift. I was really surprised with this lotion. I wasn’t expecting much from it because it’s part of a gift set. Not all items in a gift set are great but this is one set that is proving to be exceptional. At first I didn’t like this product because it’s hard to absorb and we are currently experiencing a very hot summer. It would take me some time to be able to get the product to be absorbed into my skin. I would keep rubbing and rubbing and then at midday, I end up with sticky arms and legs because of the heat. I then read the directions at the back and it said to apply a small amount of the rich lotion. The keyword here is “rich”. I tried that and now I can see that this is the perfect lotion for my uber dry skin this summer. It’s light but it’s also rich. It actually improved the appearance of my skin a little. You see, the skin on my arms resembles scales already. I wish I could show you a before and after photo but I wasn’t able to ...

Shower Me with Sweetness

This shower gel is a part of M’s gift last Christmas. To say that I am addicted to shower gels is an understatement. I finish about 2 bottles a month, depending on the size. This is a good sized shower gel but I need a lot to make a good lather. It smells nice but not enough to leave a scent on my skin. It’s actually not too drying, a surprise because most shower gels that are part of a set tend to dry out my skin. I also didn’t experience any allergies. I like the packaging although I wish it were a pump version. I also like the pink colored shower gel. It makes me smile every time I see it. I am halfway through this bottle and I am very happy with it.
