Used to the Last Drop: The Sale Find That Surprised Me

I bought this MUMUSO Purple Perilla lotion on sale.  It was sitting there on the till with a 40 or 50% off sign. I read calming. So I got it.  But since it was on sale, it also meant my expectations weren’t exactly standing at attention. But my skin surprised me. It worked beautifully. No reactions whatsoever. No problems with the scent either, which matters to me because fragrance and I do not always have the most peaceful relationship. It simply became something I could use without thinking too much about it. And perhaps that’s an underrated quality in skincare. Not everything needs to transform your life, arrive with twelve actives and demand its own complicated ritual. Sometimes you just want to put lotion on your skin and have your skin say: Fine by me. Apparently mine said that often enough that I finished the bottle. Drugstore Luxury

I have a weakness for little luxuries. Not necessarily the expensive kind. Sometimes it’s something as simple as putting gold eye patches under my eyes and walking around the house looking like I have a skincare appointment somewhere far more glamorous than my bedroom. They make an ordinary few minutes of skincare feel just a little more indulgent. And they’re not flimsy like that pair I got from KKV that I used in Baguio.  There is something I love about finding products like this at the drugstore. Beauty doesn’t always have to arrive in a heavy glass jar with a three-digit price tag and a ...

The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Tissue Review

Shoutout to my beautiful readers in Norway! You were number 1 yesterday! And I discovered something interesting. At 3:36 am yesterday (your time), 19 of you from Norway were reading my blog! I am honored to keep you company during those wee hours in the morning. Whether you were preparing for your day, can't sleep, or just decompressing, I hope you found something useful and inspiring here.  If you’ve ever had to wipe away makeup with a rosacea flare in full swing, you know the stakes are high. I've been using The Face Shop’s Herb Day Cleansing Tissue for about two months now—and I was pleasantly surprised. Even with my ultra-sensitive, flaring skin, this held up beautifully. These wipes are gentle, with a light scent that doesn't overpower. What’s more, the fragrance fades nicely once you rinse your face. I always follow up with my go-to White Seed cleanser and everything feels clean afterwards. This isn’t my first rodeo with the Herb Day line. I used the Herb Day Cleansi...
