Soft Luxe Reset: What to Do After a Trip – 2 Things I Always Do, 3 I Don’t

  Travel days are fun, but they’re also exhausting. (I just got back from one.) Long drives, shopping stops, family bonding, traffic, and the mental load of keeping everyone and everything together can leave me running on pure adrenaline. This year, I found myself travelling more for my blogs. It's only the first week of October and we've already travelled twice, covering one city and 3 provinces. Plus that trip to Taal, Batangas on the last week of September.  We will go out of town again sometime this week. With this frequent travelling, I’ve taught myself a simple Soft Luxe Reset routine that helps me shift from travel mode to rest mode without burning out.

  The Scene After Travel You know that feeling when you get home from a trip? The bags are staring at you, the laundry is waiting, and all you want is a nap, but in my case, I wanted to sleep! Our back-to-back impromptu trips to Tagaytay and Vigan left me with very little sleep for several nights.  In the past, I used to “speedrun” unpacking just to get it over with. When we got back from Baguio, I did it in 15 minutes.  But this time, I did it differently. I slowed down. I gave myself 30 minutes—and I actually enjoyed it. The Laundry Trick The first thing I did was dump the clothes straight into the washing machine. Easy, because everything was already sorted. Lounge wear had its own packing cell, going-out clothes in another, underwear in another.  Our packing cells are color coded, too, so I know whose clothes are in a specific-colored cell. No thinking required. Even the totes and packing cells got tossed in after, so they’ll be fresh for the next adventure. C...
