Sparkle!

Celebration

I was supposed to wear this combo back in June to celebrate my son’s birth. Actually, I had planned to wear all glitter back in June but I didn’t have the chance to do my nails so it’ s only now that I’m rocking them.

Glitter Nails

This is my first NOTD in about 2 months, I think. Courtesy of: Please ignore the bottle of baby bottle cleanser at the back. I guess that’s another part of motherhood. My beauty stuff are now mixed with baby stuff. Now my nails are bare again. I hope I can find the time to fix them. Being a working mom is hard work!

Fun Polka Dot NOTD

I’m sorry for the late post. I was rushed to the hospital again yesterday for some complications regarding my current health status. I was discharged after a few hours. I had to go back this morning for some follow up with my doctor. I was given some shots and I have to go back again tonight to the ER to get more shots. They were very painful and I’m so glad my husband was there with me. I’m used to getting shots and medicine that are painful but this one was more than anything I’ve ever experienced. When the doctors tell me that the medicine they will inject is painful, I just chuckle. I usually ignore the pain as I have a high pain threshold.  Over the years, I’ve had so many experiences with tests and needles so I’m usually just nonchalant about it. This morning was different though. I wasn’t ready for this one. It’s funny, my husband asked if he needed to get my water bottle from my mom who was outside the clinic waiting. I laughed and commented to my doctor that my husb...

March 2013 Blues

This was supposed to be blue. I don’t know why it turned out blue green. I have other NOTD’s for March. I will upload them soon. *All nail polish brands used were China Glaze and OPI.

Polka Dots for March

LA Girl Matte Blue and Nicki Minaj for OPI I’m not a great nail artist but I’m getting bored with plain nails and with all the time on my hands, I’ve been trying to be creative with my nails. I’m starting mostly with dots.

December 2012 Nails

This post is late but better late than never. In December, I went for reds and sparklies to go with the festive mood. The top one is from the OPI Burlesque collection. The second one is from Etude House. The third one is Glee for OPI and the last one is a combination of Burlesque and Glee. For January, I will go for green polishes. I just hope I have enough greens in my stash to last me the whole month. I really like this system as I get to finish a lot of bottles.

Purple Matte

Here is another one of those Matte nail polishes that I love: It’s also from LA Girl and yeah, I got it from Hyphen too. This particular shade is really strong as it took 4 days before it chipped. I was already getting tired of it so I was hoping that all my chores would finally make it chip (no, I don’t want to just change shades. Sayang !). But it took only the 4th night to finally give it a dent and in only 2 nails! The rest were still good. Well, that was reason enough for me to change shades. = )

Jelly Pop

In one of my very old posts, I mentioned that I was looking for the perfect top coat. I know Seche Vite is at the top of the list but I didn’t want to buy an expensive top coat. That’s just me. I have nothing against Seche Vite. As a matter of fact, when I have the budget I will try it. So my search took me to Etude House where I found this Jelly Pop Nail Top Coat. I asked the SA if they had the fast drying top coat as that seems to be the best one I’ve tried. She offered this to me instead and said that it’s their best top coat. It costs around Php200+ so I got it. It really makes my nails glossy and gives it the appearance of jelly. You know how a gelatin gleams when hit by light? It kinda has that effect on my nails. The photo does not give it justice. You have to see the actual swatch to appreciate it. I can’t comment much about the lasting ability as I do a lot of typing and chores around the house so this pink manicure only lasted for a day. I’m wearing a diff...

Another Fun Project

Here’s another NOTD that I did using the Wannabe Style Nails set from Etude House. Here are the stickers: They’re the same stickers from the other set. I just love that detail! I recently bought 2 nail art sets which I will show you in a different post. I never thought the day would come when I would get addicted to nail art. I guess that’s what vacations do to me.

Wannabe Nails

This is from Etude House’s Wannabe Collection. After months and months without shopping, I was finally able to splurge a little at Etude House. One of the things that I bought was this Wannabe Style Nails set. The Wannabe Collection is a collaboration with illustrator Annika Wester. It’s a shame I forgot to check the box before buying  and when I got home, I saw that this box was torn. This set is quite expensive at Php328 but I guess that’s because it’s a collaboration. The quality of the nail polish is no different from the 48-peso ones. Aside from the illustration on the box, I also like the nail stickers that comes with the set: Annika says that these are perfumed polishes. They’re not.  The stickers last a long time. I applied a top coat over them to protect them even more. My cousin C is quite excited to use this set. We will experiment more and we’ll post the photos here.  It’s so much fun being a girl!

New Year Nails

My first NOTD for the new year: Courtesy of: OPI Blue Shatter and China Glaze White Cap By the way, I’m having a blog sale of my nail polish as I have a huge collection already (and also, I want the extra space to buy some new ones! LOL). I’m also selling my ELF 100 palette. If you’re interested, please check out www.thehyphenstore.com . Thanks!

Colors that we love

My older sister is a bookworm. She just likes to study. She’s not obsessed with kikay stuff like I am. My cousin R is like my sister. Sure she likes to be pretty but not to the point that she would spend a lot on beauty and fashion stuff. Now R’s younger sister C, is just like me. We are both obsessed with kikay stuff. School’s out so we’ve been hanging out a lot. Last weekend we went to Market, Market! and checked out some stuff at Etude House. She became obsessed with the glitter polish and I told her I have one exactly like the silver one she’s wearing, only it was the Bieber polish in Make U Smile. So when we got back home, I applied China Glaze Ahoy on her nails and topped it off with Make U Smile: I was wearing China Glaze Lighthouse: This is what I’m wearing now: LA Girl Matte Red (available at Hyphen ) We’re going back to Etude to buy the glitter sets. We’ll be sure to post the photos when we do.  Isn’t it great to have a kikay sister?

Leotard-Optional

Hey guys! I’m so sorry for my erratic posts. I’ve been very busy and stressed. I don’t know if I’m burning out from blogging or from my everyday routine or both. Anyway, I kicked myself hard last night, (like when you’re pissed off with a vending machine), to exert more effort to do things. Here’s a photo of Leotard-Optional, the nail polish shade that’s included in the OPI for Sephora Urban Ballerina Collection. This is such a pretty nude shade. I  love it to bits! I’m glad I snagged a set from Hyphen . LOL! These photos were taken using my phone so please excuse the quality: This nail polish definitely brightened up my day. It’s so nice to be a girl. Even the little things help lift our moods up. *If you want this set, it’s currently on sale at Hyphen .

NOTD: Candylicious!

There’s this huge candy store in Singapore that’s called Candylicious. I was wearing this when we went there: The base color is Express Yourself to Yourself from the Glee OPI collection. The green on top is Mash Up from the same collection. These nails remind me of that store. If you’re wondering where to get this collection locally, check out Hyphen . Oh, and don't forget to visit our booth at the upcoming SuperSale Bazaar at the Rockwell Tent on Friday to Sunday, May 20-22, 2011!

NOTD: Make U Smile

This definitely made me smile: Courtesy of: TFS BL604 and Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber Collection, Make U Smile The Justin Bieber collection of Nicole by OPI is available at Hyphen .

I’m Feeling Blue

Not sad, just the color: It’s very rare that I match my toes and fingers but this time I kinda did: Do you match your mani-ped? I don’t. Like right now I’m wearing pink on my toes and my mermaid nails on my fingers.

NOTD: Out of This World

This is not Orly Out of This World but in my opinion, it should be. It turns from purple to green. I just love that color combination and the glitters make it even better! I got this nail polish from Sol at the Super Sale Bazaar .
