Dealing with Rough Skin

I have 3 problem areas that are always dry and rough – my elbows, knees and heels. I think most of you have the same problem as well. It doesn’t help that I had a lot of wounds and bruises when I was a kid in these areas as I was always out playing on the streets. When I got older, I still had a lot of wounds due to my sports. My elbows and knees were really battered and bruised.  I’d like to share with you what I do to get rid of rough skin. Elbows I always apply lotion right after I take a bath. I have no particular lotion for my elbows. I just apply whatever body lotion I’m using at the moment. I also scrub them twice a week. I use this: After washing my hands, I apply lotion to my hands and elbows. I don’t forget this step. Last year, I had really rough, patchy elbows and I made sure to apply lotion throughout the day after washing my hands. This is my current hand lotion: If you like resting your elbows on your desk, avoid this practice as much as possible...

This week I’m obsessed with…

Etude House Jelly Pop Nail Top Coat, Body Treats Perfumed Hand Cream, Bench Sweet Serendipity Body Lotion I have a love-hate relationship with Jelly Pop. I used to hate it because it did nothing to protect my nail polish. Last week, I put on some nail stickers and decided to put a coat of Jelly Pop over them to protect them. Wow, it worked! My manicure lasted around 3 days and the stickers lasted longer! I’ve been doing some light cooking and washing and I was amazed that the stickers stayed intact. So yeah, I’m using this a lot nowadays. Next is the perfumed hand cream which is a pain to dispense but I insist on using because it smells so nice and it does a good job of moisturizing my hands. Finally, Sweet Serendipity again. I mentioned before that I will use this as a hand lotion but one night I was too lazy to get up to get my Sakura Bella lotion and just used this instead for my feet. Oh, wow! It gets easily absorbed by my feet unlike the Sakura Bella. I’ve been using...

This week, I’m obsessed with…

I was in the hospital yesterday and I’ve also been busy with work that’s why I haven’t been blogging. I received some good news yesterday from my doctors. I can now go out as long as I’m in a wheelchair and only for a short time say, just dinner. It’s still not ideal but I’d take that any day just to end this bed arrest. I am now on modified bed rest and that means I can do a little walking (like going to my mom’s room) and some light activities (cooking with some help from mom or MB). Things are really looking up for me. Anyway, here are the things that I’m obsessed with this week. First is the Sweet Serendipity lotion from Bench. I stopped using this for a while because it’s not appropriate for summer. I am now using this as a hand lotion and it’s just perfect. it’s easily absorbed by my hands so no sticky residue.  I’ve been reaching out for this every now and then. Next is my EOS tangerine. My lips improved last week but now they’re starting to chap again! So I’m usin...

Sweet Serendipity

This was a part of my Bench haul last year. This bottle costs Php109, more expensive than my usual shower gels but it was Christmas and I was really enamored with all the different colored shower gels at Bench so I got one of each!  This shower gel is not like the other Bench shower gels that I featured it. It doesn’t bubble up as well as the others. I have to use 5 pumps of this product to make a nice lather. I like to be covered in bubbles when I take a bath. = )  The other shower gels only took 2 pumps to bubble up. I also couldn’t figure out the smell at first because I used too little product. It’s sweet smelling but it’s blah to me. Because I need to use a lot of it in one bath, it’s not very economical. This will only probably last me a week. I hope the lotion is better.

A Pair of Earrings and A Charm

This is what Migraine Boy bought for me on our date - pair of butterfly earrings and a cellphone charm in the shape of a black stiletto with "diamond" studs. Love it! The earrings cost 99.75 while the charm costs 79.75 at the Kid's Department. This is the brown blouse from HB that I mentioned in my earlier post. The original price is 479.75 and I got it for only 383.60. Just look at that bead detail: (Darn, crappy camera) The detail is beautiful, trust me. I also bought a pair of Chesca shoes. I love Chesca shoes because they last for a loooong time even if I use them everyday and they're so comfy! I like the fact that the heels are stable. That's the first thing I look for when buying shoes. I should be able to run in them in case of emergency. Chesca shoes are affordable - P700 and up, 299 and up when they're on sale. It's worth an investment. Just skip a few lattes and you've got a pair of shoes that will last you for years. Not kidding. Mine are mo...
