5 Things I'm Doing for MYSELF This 2026 to Fill My Cup

J anuary 1. The start of a new year. The start of 2026. New year is the time for resolutions. I'm not one to make resolutions, because I know they're hard to keep. But this year, I'm doing something different. These aren't resolutions per se, but more of a lifestyle change.  I was journaling last night, 15 minutes before midnight. And I've had several realizations. The first of them was that I wanted to be more selfish this year. Our pastor said in one of his sermons, to think of the other person more. I did some self-reflection and found that my problem is I've been thinking of the other person far more, for far too long than myself. I have given and given so much of myself, my time, energy, effort, money to other people all my life that by the end of the year, I'm left with nothing.  That's why I decided that for 2026, I'll be a little more selfish.  Here are 5 things I'm doing for myself this year to fill my cup: 1. Give in to impulse buys f...

Welcome, 2026. I'm So Glad You're Here.

Small Luxuries I Add to Ordinary Errands

Some days, all I do is buy groceries from different stores. I spend the whole day going to four different stores just to get everything we need.  But even the most mundane errands can feel beautiful when I add a touch of softness and luxury. Luxury doesn’t always mean expensive — it can be sensory, thoughtful, or emotional. ✨ Dressing with Intention My clothes are arranged a certain way. For years, when I became a mom, dressing up nicely was no longer an option. I was always exhausted and had so many things to do that I would just get whatever was in front. After washing and drying the outfit that I wore, it goes to the back. This system prevented decision fatigue. But it also took the joy out of dressing up, which I loved during my younger years, as you'll see in my archives.  Planning Outfits Today, I dress with intention. I plan my outfits the day before. Even if it's "just errands." Knowing that I'm put together instantly changes my mood.  I also stopped do...

Soft Luxe Staycations: Binondo Series - Eng Bee Tin Part 1 and Cutting our Staycation Short

During the previous night (Wednesday), my son forecasted that there will be a severe tropical storm on Friday. He said it's going to start raining at 8 am and the strongest will be around 12:20 pm. This weighed heavily in my mind while in bed. We are nightowls. It's very hard for us to wake up early. The route we're going to take to go home gets flooded easily. I've been stuck on Taft Avenue several times during a typhoon, in flood, and it's bad. I don't want to be stuck with my child.
