I ’ve been reaching for cream makeup more often lately. My skin is very dry, so cream formulas have become particularly appealing to me. I generally find them more comfortable to work with, especially when I want makeup that doesn’t emphasize dryness. That’s why a recent eyeshadow purchase surprised me. I tried the BYS Mallow Touch Bouncy Clay Eyeshadow palette, expecting something closer to the cream eyeshadows I’ve enjoyed using. The colors are lovely, and the palette certainly looks promising. But the application wasn’t quite what I expected. Instead of looking smooth on my eyelids, the eyeshadow appeared noticeably dry. It was also difficult to blend, which made the application less enjoyable than I’m accustomed to with cream formulas. I skipped these palettes. They’re very pretty, but won’t work on me There are colors I find absolutely beautiful but rarely wear. An eyeshadow palette might have the loveliest arrangement of shades. A lipstick might look irresistible in its packaging. A blouse might catch my attention simply because the color is gorgeous. But I’ve learned that admiring a color and actually using it are two very different things. Some shades look wonderful in the pan but don’t translate quite the same way on my skin. I was told coral would look lovely on my skin, but it just turns into a gaudy orange! 🙄 Others look beautiful on someone else but don’t flatter me in quite the same way.   Remember this?  This is one of the lipsticks that I’m fond of.  But over the past few months, I’ve been accumulating a few more lipsticks.  And have had zero success in finding the mythical perfect cream blush.  My face has become textured and dry from the after effects of the many medicines they pumped into me for years that I have a hard time wearing blush.  It seems that cream blushes are the best for this season of my skin.  But I haven’t found any good ones.  So one day, I was using this lipstick shade and thought, well, why not? So I swiped some of it onto my hand.  Got my cloud puff, swiped to get some product and gently tap, tap, tapped on my cheeks.  It was perfect!  I know it looks too pink on my hand, but I have a secret.  I applied this under foundation.  My skin is already red from rashes.  But the extra pink this gives balances it out.  And under foundation?  It’s the perfect natural flush....

  For many, many years, I’ve avoided dual-ended brushes.  I don’t like it when the other end gets dirty and squished in the container.  And for many, many years, I’ve used individual disposable spoolies to groom my brows.  But since I’ve been busier, I started buying more brushes. More brushes means less time spent washing them frequently.  More brushes meant more eyebrow brushes.  However, the brushes at KKV only had these dual tip ones.  (I’ve stopped buying expensive brushes. Tell you why in a future issue.) So, I had no choice. Hi, everyone! I'm sorry I've been away for so long. I've had many things that needed my utmost attention. It's also the start of summer and my urticaria has come back. I am covered with huge wheals all over. I've seen a dermatologist the other day and was put on meds. I pray that this will work as I don't want to undergo any more tests. If you have chronic urticaria, I'd appreciate some tips and advice. So, let's talk about these Essence makeup that I got some time ago. My favorite among these is the All About Roses eye shadow palette. The shadows are super pigmented. They last the whole day. They are even better than my Stila palettes and for a fraction of the price! I just use a good primer such as UDPP or the one from Too Faced. I also like the All About Matt powder. I used it on my sister when I did her makeup for her party. She stayed shine-free for a long time in spite of the heat. I rarely use this on myself as my skin is too dry nowadays....

My cousins need makeup. One, for her job and the other, well, she just likes makeup so I decided to give them some of mine. These have served me well and I can see that my cousins  are now enjoying them.
