When Bored…

I started with this: Then I had a bunch of these: But I was bored so I ended up with this: 5 more then I have a full palette! Wheeee!!! The MAC 15-pan empty palette is available at Hyphen.

Haul-over Wednesday

This isn’t exactly a haul as I only bought one and the other one was a gift. I bought this red and white striped bangle from Hyphen Luxe. Hyphen Luxe is a brand under Hyphen and I somewhat play a consultant/director part on that side so if I want something, I have to pay for it. I sometimes choose the accessories/clothes that Hyphen Luxe carries. This bangle was one of those. I pick things that I myself will wear. I didn’t have a need for this bangle back when we acquired this but when I was wearing my new nautical shirt (which I got from a Korean friend, more on that soon)  during the DLSU Centennial Celebration I just thought that this bangle was a match so I got it! Later that day, I met Helen. She blogged about our meeting here . She gave me this the next day: Well, actually, she left it with my best friend as I think I was in the canteen that time. The note was super! My best friend was so touched too! It’s people like you, Helen, that give me good blogging juju. = ) Yo...

Makeup Addict Much?

I guess I am as evidenced by my shirts: Whenever I go abroad, I just have to have my Uniqlo fix. I was really thrilled when I saw this OPI for Uniqlo and this Canmake for Uniqlo: The OPI shirt is especially helpful during bazaars as it’s the perfect advertisement for my OPI products! Do you have "makeup clothes" or do you feel like you're a walking advertisement in them? Share!

Playing Koi and A Dupe

It was too late when I realized that MAC Quite Cute has launched here but I was able to look at them in Singapore. I was determined not to buy anything from this collection but when I saw Playing Koi, I realized I needed a light, nude lipstick to complement very colorful eyes. I’m very happy I purchased this lipstick: Here’s a swatch: Oh, and if MAC lippies are too expensive for your taste, here’s a nice dupe: The Etude House Darling Angel Lip & Cheek cream. These lippies really go well with vibrant blues!

Final Installment of Thanksgiving Giveaway

So sorry ladies for being this late. I wasn’t able to drop by Bobbi Brown last Friday because of the typhoon. Well, better late than never! 3 lucky ladies will win one (1) Bobbi Brown Lash Glamour Extreme Lengthening Mascara each! This is the latest mascara that Bobbi Brown has to offer. I haven’t tried it myself but Bobbi’s Senior Makeup Artist (Ms. Bea) says that she really likes it as it really lengthens and separates your lashes unlike other mascaras that clump up your lashes. These are full sized tubes (not trial sizes) so the winners will really get to enjoy this mascara for a full 3 months!  For all those who joined from the first installment, no need to do numbers 1-7 again. Just blog about this particular prize if you want a chance to win it. For first timers, please check out the first installment . Don’t forget to “Like” Bobbi Brown Philippines’ FB page! This giveaway ends on July 3, 2011. * Special thanks goes out to Bobbi Brown Philippines, Ms. Ina, Ms. Mon...

Hanging Out with C and a Double FOTD

During the summer vacation, I would always ask C to run errands with me or hang out in the mall or do both. Here are random photos of one of our trips. Here’s the hairstyle that I wore. I always wore my hair up as I couldn’t stand the heat: I used my magic comb for this hairstyle: We ate at Shakey’s. I love putting cherry in my Sprite so I really loved this drink: I just didn’t like the cherry syrup which made the drink too sweet. This is my NARS face and her Clinique face: She likes fooling around when I’m busy: My sister is not kikay. C’s sister is not so kikay as well. It’s great that we share a common passion for girly things so we really enjoy our trips.

Haul-over Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I was finally able to stay in one place and do some backlog work. I am very busy, period. So, blogging is a welcome respite. Some of the other posts were scheduled ones and this Haul-over Wednesday post is well, live? Hahaha! This is a haul that I did some weeks ago. This is the first time that I’ve tried NYX eyeshadows. I think the only NYX products that I’ve tried are the Grinding Blush and the Mood Gloss . The palette on top is from the Runway Collection. It’s palette 04 which is Catwalk. It has 10 neutral shades (I said I’m swearing off neutrals). I bought it in spite of my limit on neutrals because I was intrigued. That’s all. Oh, and the colors are great to use on my number 1 client – mom. Pigmentation is so-so. I need to dab my brush several times to get the color and intensity that I want. But I was very surprised with the texture. The shadows are very smooth, almost cream-like. The colorful palette is from The Carribean Collection and ...

I Dream of Greenie

Here’s another Wet n Wild palette! And it happens to be one of my favorites (if not my favorite): I love green and I wear it when I’m in a happy mood. Here’s a swatch: I wore this when we went to Ocean Park. This is the EOTD after 5 hours: This is my FOTD. I only re-touched my powder, blush and lipstick. I don’t bring my eyeshadow palettes. After a day of heat and sweat, it still looked vibrant: So I guess it’s safe to say that this is a very good buy right? For only Php299, I get a long-lasting eyeshadow palette. More Wet n Wild Palettes to come!

Sweetie Angel

First of all, thank you so much to all the students, faculty and staff of DLSU for supporting Hyphen and Hyphen Luxe during the week-long celebration of La Salle’s Centennial! We will back, for sure! Moving on, I was going through my archives for my backlog posts and look what I found – a better swatch of Sweetie Angel: Here’s a dreamy shot: See how pretty that is? I go for this color when I’m just running errands instead of Bobbi Brown’s Bikini Pink para tipid!

Thanksgiving Giveaway Part 2!

I’m soooooo busy girls! I’m doing so many things aside from manning our booth at the La Salle Centennial Bazaar! If you have friends who are studying in La Salle, please tell them to drop by our booth, Hyphen and Hyphen Luxe.  We will be there until Friday, June 17. Going back, here’s part two of my giveaway: As much as I would like to give the ELF Everyday Basics Palette, I only have one so you ladies would have to settle with this: One lucky girl will win this palette. There will be 3 winners of this: You guessed it! It’s from Clinique. There are goodies inside, of course! But it’s a surprise. The winners must be able to personally claim their prizes at the Clinique counter at Rustan’s Makati. I will be there to meet the winners. The winners will also get a skin consultation from the Clinique Beauty Team. If you want to win this prize, please indicate in your entry.  If you won’t be able to personally get your prize then I will choose another winner. Total win...

Angel Kisses

In one of my Haul-over Wednesday posts, I featured 2 Lip & Cheek creams from Etude House. They are Sweetie Angel and Darling Angel: Here are swatches: This is Darling Angel (the one on the right) which is a very light peach, almost nude color. I like using this with heavy eye makeup. It balances the overall look. This is  Sweetie Angel which, in reality, is a bright pink: It’s almost like Bobbi Brown’s Pale Pink. This is a good pick-me-up lipstick. This is very versatile, in my opinion. You can wear this with neutral eyes or with colorful eyes. Just be careful with the color combination. You don’t want to end up looking like a clown. I once used this with a bright green eyeshadow and thought that I looked like a clown. Haha! So I switched to Darling Angel. But it worked with yellows, pinks, oranges, blues. Well, I guess it really depends on your skin tone because I used this shade on C with a yellow/pink eye look and didn't work. I used the same combination on a...

Schiap!

I wasn’t able to buy NARS Schiap lipstick before so I settled with the nail polish version: I think this is a part of the Tainted Love Set. I’m getting addicted to bright pinks! I’ll show you my favorite bright pink lipsticks soon!

Thanksgiving Giveaway–At last!

I finally had the time to do this! Here is the first batch of prizes for my Thanksgiving Giveaway: Stationeries and post-it notes from Hyphen Pop Clothes from Hyphen Luxe Makeup from my personal collection and Hyphen Discount coupons from Hyphen that you can use on bazaars or online purchases And this Bobbi Brown palette from my personal collection. Haul-over Wednesday

This isn’t exactly a haul because there’s just one but if you consider each pot then I guess you can call it a haul. 100 to be exact: You all know my dilemma about matte eyeshadows. Here is the answer to that. As you can see, I’ve already used some of the colors. I brought this palette to the disastrous bazaar with me so that I can practice my makeup skills on my mom and my best friend. I also used this palette on myself. The colors are great, nice and vivid. The texture is not so good. It’s not chalky but you need to really get your brush in there to get a good amount of color. For a very affordable palette, it lasts a good amount of time. The colors still fade though, even with a UDPP base. I retouched both of their makeup twice during the course of the day and through the night. I didn’t retouch mine because it looked okay to me. I guess it’s because I had an aqua e/s on while mom had corals and browns and C had light greens and pinks. I guess the darker colors last longe...

EOTD: I Got Good Jeans!

I am so enamored with my Wet n Wild palettes that I asked my cousin C to come over so that we can play makeup! I’m sure most of you girls would be intimated with the colors but they are really wearable! You can wear them on a night out or when you’re going gimmick with your friends on a weekend.  Here’s the first palette: This is I Got Good Jeans. It’s so edgy. I wouldn’t normally wear this combination but I just couldn’t resist it! During the past month, I realized that I love color! Eyeshadows are my favorite type of makeup. I haven’t used this on myself but I will soon. Here’s the look I did on C: This palette is great if you are a beginner because it tells you specifically which color goes where. I sooooo love these palettes that I bought all except for the one neutral palette! I hope Wet n Wild comes up with more palettes like these. They are L-O-V-E! It's fun to wear colorful makeup every now and then. It perks up your mood and ups your confidence! These are av...

Haul-over Wednesday!

I’ve been seeing a pattern with my shopping – they all come on a Wednesday! So I am pretty much vowing to go shopping on Wednesdays! (So help me Kitten and Ahne!) Why? I think it’s nice to have a break, a pick-me-up in the middle of the week. I don’t like shopping on a Friday because it’s hard to get a ride home especially when I have tons of carriers with me. Haha! And during weekends, well I’m usually with MB and I think I already got used to being alone when shopping so I tend to linger. MB is too busy during the week that I don’t have quality time to spend with him so instead of shopping I try to enjoy his company during the weekend. I can go shopping on my time, 5x a week, for as long as I want. What’s a weekend without? So, for my first Haul-over Wednesday, I’d like to share with you some things I bought when I went out with my best friend C: I think this was 2-3 weeks ago. We met at Mega because I really wanted to shop at Etude. I got 2 lip and cheek pots, the Tanger...

All my (makeup) bags are packed… Part 3

Finally, my ever reliable Armani bag where I put all the essentials: I need to bring cotton pads, cotton buds, facial tissues and a lot of sponges! Did you know that cotton pads are better to use on your face than regular cotton balls? Cotton pads are smoother and more compact so they don’t leave any residue and don’t scratch your face. Cotton balls are the opposite. Of course, my tool belt and mirror: And another pouch for other tools: I originally purchased this pouch for my brushes but since the Muji bag has a brush holder, I opted to put my other tools here. I actually don’t need a setting spray as it’s going to be a fast, hectic shoot. Makeup will change several times. I just put my Urban Decay All Nighter there so I wouldn’t lose it. This product is awesome and if you’re wondering where to get it, check out Hyphen . And the last pouch that I will be bringing is my Agness B. which is missing a red chain. I think I lost that somewhere in my room in Singapore… :...
