This is my experience with watercolor tubes and pans.  When I first started exploring watercolor painting, I discovered that choosing between tubes and pans wasn’t simply a matter of which one was better. They each offered a different painting experience. Watercolor pans are wonderfully convenient. The paint is already dry and arranged in individual compartments. A little water activates the pigment, making pans particularly useful for quick sketches, small illustrations, and painting away from a dedicated workspace. I also appreciate how easy they are to put away. There’s no need to squeeze out fresh paint, and a compact palette doesn’t take up much room. Watercolor tubes , on the other hand, give me the option of working with freshly squeezed paint. I can prepare larger amounts of a particular color, adjust the consistency, and mix shades directly on my palette. I got the brush roll and the pouch for free! I ’ve used different art materials over the years, but trying Tombow brush pens for the first time was a pleasant surprise. Just a background. I’ve always wanted to use brush pens, but I feel that they are too stiff compared to, say, watercolor brushes..or even acrylic brushes.  I found this particular set at a local crafting event by Googly Gooeys and The Happy Station at Sheraton hotel.  I couldn’t resist the pastel shades. I’m a deep autumn gal, but I really liked these. I told myself that I’d give it another try. I’ve only started painting in late May and my fingers are not that flexible yet, so I was a little afraid to use brush pens.  The first thing I noticed was how much control I had over the strokes. The flexible brush tip allowed me to create both delicate lines and broader shapes simply by changing the pressure. I keep seeing these Pentel Vistage Watercolor Sticks at SM Stationery. And every time I see them, I look. Then I leave them there. I was curious about them, but my friend told me they were student grade. Apparently, that was enough to lodge itself somewhere in my brain as you don’t need those. So I didn’t buy them. I actually saw them again just last Saturday. Looked at them. Still didn’t buy them. Except this time, I had completely forgotten about something rather important. My $4 Mont Marte watercolors. I’ve been exploring painting more seriously lately, and those inexpensive little watercolor tubes surprised me. Hey, Glow Girls! I was busy at the atelier yesterday, so part 2 was a little delayed.  Let’s get the show started then.  Our next stop was another favorite - Art Bar! (I wish we had more Art Bars near my place.) This set costs about $180.  I have been manifesting this Caran d’Ache Neocolor II.  I was so surprised to find them here!  From what I remember, they weren’t there the last time I went to Art Bar.  There was a whole display dedicated to them!  This set costs $80 They also had the Neocolor 1 but since I’m a watercolorist, I chose Neocolor II Oh, these pastel colours are so lovely! But I don’t do a lot of acrylic painting. My son is the acrylic painter.  Mont Marte acrylics are pretty good though, if you’re trying out acrylic for the first time. I highly recommend them.  I will probably get these next time. I may not paint with acrylics, but I’m slowly getting obsessed with acrylic markers.  Oh, how I wanted these glitter pens, but...

  Remember when I said that I was stuck at home for over a week?  Well, my son and I got out and wandered in Greenbelt.  We went inside Typo.  For some reason, I haven’t bought anything from this store in years.  But I always find something I like in Typo Singapore. Hmmm… Strawberries and cherries are my thing. Breakfast tabs! I was tempted to buy this one, but I still have a lot of tabs to use up.  I am always drawn to food stickers.  I currently have an obsession with stamp markers. As a matter of fact, I have acquired my son’s sets. Yes, sets. 2 sets. He’s not using them anymore. So mommy will. 😁 This Essential Pen Pack is a good idea.
