Make Your Blush Look More Natural

I think the reason why I don’t have a lot of blushes is because I only apply a little at a time, maybe too little. It’s one of those things that I don’t give much thought about when I’m doing my makeup. I’m also too lazy to retouch during the day. But, the right blush application can make you look healthy and give you that certain glow. Now that I’m very pale, I really need to make an effort with my blush. I don’t need to go overboard and look like a clown but I should really make it look like I have rosy cheeks (so that I look healthy). Here are a few tips on how to make your blush look more natural. Choose your shade Start with a shade that is close to your natural flush. The darker your skin is, the deeper your blush should be so that you won’t look sallow. Pick the right brush I usually use these 3 brushes. The first one is the ELF blush brush. It’s actually too small so I have to really blend the blush so that I won’t end up with blush circles on my cheeks. The next i...

Ze Blushes

I think of all the makeup types, blushes and eye liners are the least that I buy. I believe in hitting the pan first before buying another blush. But this thought proved to be frustrating several times in the past when I would do an eye look and couldn’t find the perfect shade of blush or when I do another person’s makeup. So, last December I started to explore my horizons when it comes to blushes. Here, I will feature 3 blushes from affordable to high end. Let’s go with the high end first: As you can see, the compact is lovely. It stays closed too and is not hard to open. Isn’t that gorgeous? I’m smitten when I see monochromatic makeup.  Here’s a swatch: I exaggerated this a bit so that you can see the shade. This blush is awesome. I used this for C’s prom look. It has a very silky feel and the shimmers are subtle. Staying power is good. It lasts several hours, more if you spray on MAC Fix or Urban Decay All-Nighter .  This blush costs Php1,800. When I paid for ...

Pretty in Pink

I purchased this Love & Beauty Mosaic blush a few months ago, the same time I purchased the Charm Brushes. What attracted me to this blush is the mosaic pattern. I bought this from Forever 21 US as I don’t think we have the makeup line here. This is a very affordable blush that gives me beautiful pink results. I like that it’s a highlighter, bronzer and blush in one. I mostly use it as a highlighter and blush. If I want a simple makeup done, I just swipe/buff this on my cheeks and I’m ready to go. I usually use this on weekends and on days when I’m too lazy to put on makeup. It doesn’t give me a natural flush on the cheeks but a lighter  “girly” pink flush. Here are the swatches: Although it’s an affordable blush (I don’t like using the word ‘cheap’), it didn’t make me breakout nor did it give me rashes. It wasn’t itchy even on my first use.  It’s very easy to apply and blend and lasts about 3 hours or so depending on how oily your skin is. Mine is dry right now as i...
