Glow by Lady E

I bought this MUMUSO Purple Perilla lotion on sale.  It was sitting there on the till with a 40 or 50% off sign. I read calming. So I got it.  But since it was on sale, it also meant my expectations weren’t exactly standing at attention. But my skin surprised me. It worked beautifully. No reactions whatsoever. No problems with the scent either, which matters to me because fragrance and I do not always have the most peaceful relationship. It simply became something I could use without thinking too much about it. And perhaps that’s an underrated quality in skincare. Not everything needs to transform your life, arrive with twelve actives and demand its own complicated ritual. Sometimes you just want to put lotion on your skin and have your skin say: Fine by me. Apparently mine said that often enough that I finished the bottle.   It's 4 pm and I'm finally able to sit down and talk to you, my Glow Ladies. My day started very late, because yesterday's ended as our neighbor's rooster crowed. We joke that he is a Call Center Rooster as he crows between 2-3 am. I had many things running through my head and being ADHD, I couldn't shake them off until I calmed myself and took the time to write them down. Sleep finally came only after I emptied my thoughts into notes and grounded with a dear friend.  The Day Starts By the time I got up at 11, I could feel the old guilt creeping in. But not today. I reminded myself: Queens aren’t late. They rise when they’re ready I'm not in a race. And it's Friday! Queens are allowed to take it easy on Fridays.  Once, I would’ve skipped my rituals and gone straight to the to-do list. Today’s weather forecast: torrential downpour + a very real craving to roam around airconditioned aisles and touch everything pink and pastel. It's been raining for a week. The skies would brighten up for an hour or two then dark clouds would dramatically enter like a K-drama lead, complete with a wind machine. I was supposed to go out today. But the weather said stay home, stare at the wall, and contemplate life. So instead of braving the heavy rains and getting my hair ruined by  howling winds, I’m making a list (and probably checking it twice tomorrow, purse in hand).
