Lucido-L Neat and Keep

It's always a treat for me to visit Watsons, PCX or Mercury Drugstore here because I get to discover a lot of things. If that's a treat, then imagine my delight when I am abroad. I always make it a point to checkout the drugstores and beauty shops to find new products and products that are not available here. One of those products is Lucido-L. I haven't seen this here. I'm not sure if they have this at PCX though. I still have to check.  I normally use the wax from Bench Fix to tame my unruly baby hairs. The Lucido-L looked pretty (sucker for cute packaging) and it says that it's non-sticky. That's good enough for me.  I am so happy that I got this because it works so well! It doesn't harden my hair or make it oily/sticky. It feels so natural and it tames those unruly hairs. It's light and it smells nice too. Just a small amount and my hair is all set.  I am looking forward to going back abroad so that I can stock up on this.  Lucido-L N...

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Hair Repair

I am finally ready to review this product. I’ve been using it for the past couple of months (if I’m correct) and so far it hasn’t disappointed. I like this better than the shampoo and conditioner in this line. The smell is the same as the shampoo and conditioner, a bit salon-y if you know what I mean. The product’s color is exactly like the container. The consistency is perfect for a hair repair product – not too thin, not too thick.  I can massage it thoroughly into my hair. It also rinses out quickly. At first I didn’t like it because it felt like it was weighing down my hair. My mistake was I put too much on my first try. Now I just get a small dollop and apply evenly on the tips of my hair and then I massage the tips onto the rest of my head so that the product gets distributed to other hairs. I wait for about 10 minutes then rinse this off. My hair feels soft and very manageable after using this. It also prevents dullness. Between this and the TreSemme hair repa...

FX Curl Booster

The other day, I featured the FX heat protectant. This is the FX Curl Booster. If you do some Google search, you’ll find that this product has mixed reviews. I got this for a little over 300 pesos at Landmark. I use this with my Babyliss Hair Curler. At first, I wasn’t too happy about this spray. It did nothing to make my curls last. I would spray it on my hair after I curl it then I scrunch. The other day, I decided to spray this on first then curl my hair. It worked! Most of my curls lasted the whole day! Some even lasted until night time! Too bad I can’t use this with the heat protectant. The heat protectant cancels out the effects of this product. I’m pretty happy with the price and performance of this product. I will probably but this again once it runs out. If you’re going to try this, don’t forget to spray a generous amount on each section of your hair. It smells like something out of the salon but it’s not too strong and I’m able to tolerate it.

Heat Protectant

I’ve been looking for a heat protectant ever since my stylist told me that he will not curl my hair because of the damage. I blow dry my hair or use a curling iron when I go out so I needed a heat protectant to protect my hair from further damage. I’ve gone to a lot of shops and I saw this bottle at Landmark. The brand is FX. You might be familiar with this brand as they are ones that sell argan shampoo and fruit based hair products. It costs a little over 200 pesos if I’m not mistaken. It’s a good buy. I can’t use it with a curling iron though as it prevents my hair from curling up. I just use this with a blow dryer.  The smell is something that I can tolerate plus it weakens over time so I don’t have any problems with that. Just spray generously and use a flat iron or hair dryer and you are ready to go.

TreSemme Hair Treatment

I got this at Watsons for Php139 a few months ago. If you can recall my post about the Dove Hair Treatment, I mentioned that this was my replacement. I’m happy that it did not disappoint. The product is very thick and stiff so you won’t need a lot. I have long hair and I only use a small dollop. I made the mistake of using so much on my first try that it took me a while to rinse it out. I use this treatment twice a week and I really enjoy the results. Cousin C even commented the other day that my hair was “ bagong hair spa”. I asked  how she knew and she said that my hair was very soft and very manageable. This product smells like something out of a salon. I guess it really is for professional use. At that price, I will definitely buy this again! One jar will last me several months.

Bubble Hair

One Saturday, MB, my cousin C and I decided to go on a road trip to Bonifacio High Street/Market! Market! I always enter an Etude House boutique whenever I see one so I definitely checked out the branch at Market! One of the things that caught my eye was this Bubble Hair color. Photo from Etude House I badly need a salon visit but I couldn’t find the time so I had an idea. Why not try this? I asked my cousin if she could stay over and color my hair. So we had a little experiment that night and this was the result: I used the exact shade in the photo above. The ends of my hair became lighter while the rest became a somewhat reddish shade, depending on the light. Either way, I love it! A lot of my friends commented that they really like this shade on me. Even my makeup mentor liked it. Some parts are still black though. That’s okay. My cousin is not an expert so this is good enough for me. A regular hair color costs around Php1k. I only shelled out 378 pesos for this and I got very ...

Weather Defense

For the first time in my life, I’ve experienced split ends. I have no-fuss hair so I was really shocked when I noticed those darned split ends. I asked my former stylist about it and she said that it might be the weather. As you can recall, the summer months were brutal. It was fortunate that I saw this product when Kitten and I went out one day in June: This is the Sunsilk Co-Creations Weather Defense Serum. Kitten also bought one but in another variant. She already blogged about it. I use this product 2-3x a week at night. Why at night you say? In the morning I apply Monea Curling Milk to my hair and they don’t jive. This makes my hair too limp so I decided to use it at night. Besides, the body repairs itself at night right? The smell is wonderful. It’s non-irritating. The texture is a bit oily but not too much that you would end up with splotched pillows. I apply one squirt to one side and another squirt to the other. After a month of using this product with the L’oreal repa...

Purederm Shiny & Hydrating Hair Mask

I am busy writing these backlog posts. This is an overdue review and lately I've been finding time to use my DIY products. This is another great product from the Purederm line: I only have one of these and I used it a couple of months ago. It doesn’t give my hair a miraculous shine but my hair looked like it has Vitress on (on strategic parts).  But it didn’t look like it has oil all over. It was a natural looking shine. I like the fact that it didn’t make my scalp itch. This product is suited for dry hair (check). It has peppermint oil that soothed my scalp. If you can recall, I’ve had shampoo problems and this product was a wonderful break from all that itching. It takes some time to rinse this off but the effort is worth it. Will I repurchase? Absolutely! This is very affordable at less than one hundred pesos. If only I can find more time to use my DIY products. The whirlwind of a holiday went by so fast! I did a lot of chores and things that I’ve been wanting to do for th...

Changpo!

Finally, I gave in to the Changpo craze! I am still on the lookout for a good shampoo as after some time, I develop allergic reactions to the usual shampoos that I try. I've already tried the ones from Healthy Options which were okay until I developed flakes. Then I've tried St. Ives but it left my hair dry. I used L'Oreal before but ended up with allergies on my skin (shoulders, arms). I tried using L'Oreal again after seeing Kitten's haul post and I'm glad that my skin has adjusted to it. But I still couldn't resist trying out this shampoo from The Face Shop: Changpo Wave Volume Up Shampoo This one is for curly hair.  Too bad the conditioner was out of stock. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Am I ever so happy with this purchase! My hair feels soft and smooth and bouncy all at the same time whenever I use this. I use this at night to remove all the dirt and gunk on my hair then I use a L'oreal conditioner in the morning. I must say that even without the con...

Pantene Hair Fall Control

(I will be uploading backlog posts as I couldn’t upload when I was in the hotel, terrible internet connection.) My Pantene samples arrived a few days before the lovely Kitten posted about hers. Many of you know that I am allergic to Pantene but I couldn’t resist trying again especially with all the hype. Unfortunately, I’m still allergic to Pantene. I got rashes all over after using this. Well, in spite of that, I was still able to finish these two bottles. I wanted to see some dramatic changes. It might work. I think Pantene is really best for straight hair. My curly hair became flat and limp. Even with Monea, my hair was still flat. It was manageable, alright, but I want big, poufy hair. Haha! It’s also great for tangles, you don’t have to worry about combing your hair every once in a while if you have straight hair. As for the hair fall control, I guess since I’m allergic to this product, the hair fall did not improve. I experienced the same amount of hair fall every morni...
