Random Shades of Green and Nostalgia

(and a little love for pieces that still spark joy) Today was one of those days when I felt like playing dress-up — not for anyone else, not even for errands, just for me. I've been doing some purging after that mega shopping spree I did last Saturday. (Read Part 1 , Part 2 , Part 3 ).  I dug through my jewelry box to look for pieces that don't suit my lifestyle anymore and found these old green beaded bracelets. I almost forgot how good they look against my skin tone. Wore them stacked for a bit of boho energy. Then I saw my Harajuku Lovers earrings. 🐸 They instantly brought me back to the time when I owned a beauty and fashion business called Hyphen. More on that later.  I can't really wear them out now — they don’t fit my current style — but I still love them. So I wore them at home today. Why not? Also wearing: A deep green ribbed tank (comfy and clean) Olive lounge pants with pinstripes that add a soft structure. I know the colors clash a bit but who cares! Green is m...

Sorry for all the crease. I didn’t bother ironing this as I tossed it in the laundry basket after I took a photo. I’ve lost 17 pounds since I gave birth so I am slowly rebuilding my wardrobe. I gave away more than half of my wardrobe when I got pregnant so I need new clothes. I haven’t been going out much except to go to the hospital so there’s no rush. I am still on house arrest until my bleeding stops or until my next checkup. My doctor will be the one to decide when I can go back to my normal routine of doing errands, etc. She says to take it easy for 3 months before doing house chores. I can’t wait for those 3 months to be over so that I can do some cleaning and sprucing up in our home. It has been neglected for so long. Anyway, back to the stuff. Mom also has the same pair on the right. I’m itching to do some bag and shoe shopping next. I can’t wait!

Lots of beads from Hyphen this season. These have matching bracelets too:

Arm Candies

I got me some more Hyphen Love: I also got this pair of earrings.

Can’t wait to wear these! And of course, I got rid of 4 pieces from my collection. 4 in, 4 out.

Trinkets

Now that I have so much time on my hands, I’ve been slowly reducing my stuff. I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff over the years and it’s time that I simplify my life. I started doing this with my wardrobe. I found out that I have over 200 pieces of clothing and that’s just for going out. The thing is, even with all those clothes, there are days when I feel I don’t have anything to wear. I’ve managed to bring down the number to a little over 100 but I still want to reduce it further, down to just 100. That process would have to wait when I get better and I can go shopping again. Yes, more clothes to replace the ones that I will give away and to add more to the categories that are lacking. For example, I have about 7 shorts and I want that number to go up to 10 but I also discovered that I need to give away 4 shorts because they are already faded. My comfortable number is 10 for each clothing. I don’t know if I will have the strength to bring that down to 7 or 5. = ) Anyway, I thought ...

Mini Haul

It’s been a while since I went shopping. Well, it’s been a while since I got out of the house. I’m still on house arrest but I managed to do a bit of shopping after I went to the doctor. These are just essentials: My doctor noticed my uber dry skin so she told me to use Dove beauty bar. I actually don’t like this because it does not bubble up. I like my soaps to lather up nicely but I need it and the doctor prescribed it so yeah, I’m using it. My makeup sponges from Beauty Bar are still out of stock so I made a quick stop to Japan Home Center and bought a bag of sponges. There are different sponges in the bag and I can say that I’m impressed with the quality. At first I was hesitant to buy this as I only needed the wedge sponge to apply my foundation. I just said to myself that I’ll just make it work. Turns out, I can use a lot of these sponges: This round sponge fits my Paul & Joe compact perfectly. This sponge is too big for my Clinique com...
