It’s Never Too Late

I can’t believe I only tried this product recently: For a lip balm addict, I sure am slow… I know Carmex has been around for some time and I’ve read and heard all the great things about it. I just kept putting off buying it. I guess I got swayed by all the pretty packaging of the other brands. Well, you have to admit. Red and yellow is not really very attractive for a lip balm. It kinda reminds me of McDonald’s. But anyway, that red and yellow combo is a classic and people identify with it. So who am I to judge a classic? So what else can I say that’s new about this product? Absolutely nothing! It’s a great product. It does not taste weird (in my opinion), it doesn’t smell weird. It makes a great base for my ELF liquid lipsticks (more on that soon) and other lipsticks. It makes my lips soft. Actually, it made my lips better. Before Carmex, my lips would dry out whenever I don’t have lip balm on. With Carmex, my lips are no longer that dry. But what I really love about it is...

Mood Lips?

If there are mood rings, then technology has developed a mood lip gloss and a mood lip balm: I got the NYX Mood Lip Gloss from Sol .  I don't use this very often as I am not a huge fan of lip gloss. But this is very useful when I'm out on bazaars (outdoor bazaars, that is).  I like using lip stains and the gloss gives the lip stain a boost. The lip gloss lasts for a fair amount of time. It also leaves a nice pink stain on my lips after I've wiped it off. It sometimes gives me dry lips so I make sure to pile on lip balm before applying it. Here are swatches: This is over Revlon Just Bitten Lip Balm. You can actually see the gloss change color if you apply it over a lip balm. This one below is just the gloss solo: It's a nice pink shade, perfect for teens. On the other hand, we have the mood lip balm. Here are swatches: This is a lighter pink compared to the gloss which gives my lips a deep pink hue. Isn't that strange? I think the gloss should be l...

Lip Ice Color Lipbalms

So I went Lip Ice CRAZY last year. I finally found the time to blog about 3 of them. Here are the Lip Ice Color Lipbalms (for soft and beautiful lips –haha!): The three variants are Candy Apple, Pretty Pink and Sweet Rose. There’s a lot of product in one tube. This is Pretty Pink which looks really red. This is Sweet Rose. I love those tiny sparkles! Here are swatches: From top to bottom – Pretty Pink, Sweet Rose, Candy Apple. I just opened Candy Apple today and I haven’t used it yet like for the whole day. I just swiped it on for photo purposes. Lip Swatches: Pretty Pink looks very light. This is perfect as a base for other pink lipsticks. When I’m too lazy to apply and bring lipstick, I swipe Sweet Rose on. The sparkles and strong shade make it a good lipstick substitute. Candy Apple is also light. I was surprised that it didn’t turn out red like the picture on the cover. I guess I can use this as a base for red lipsticks. I love the fact that these lip b...

Fruity Shine

I am terribly, terribly busy these days. I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since Friday. There are just too many things to do, too many places to go to, too many people to meet, too many gifts to wrap. I am very thankful that I found the time to sit down and write today. I will posting a lot of backlogs as they’re piling up in my hard drive. This is the Nivea Fruity Shine Strawberry Lip Balm: I can’t resist Nivea’s packaging. They’re so pretty! This is a new packaging. The top is slanted, not flat but the balm inside is still round: I’ve been using this for a month now and as with the Angel Star, I am very satisfied. I just can’t stand the smell. It’s too strawberry sweet! I don’t like very sweet scents. It’s funny though, the taste is just mild. Here are swatches: I like using this on days when I’m too lazy to apply lipstick or when I’m just running errands. The tiny sparkles add a bit of shine so it looks like I’m still wearing a bit of lipstick.  As with all m...
