I bought this MUMUSO Purple Perilla lotion on sale.  It was sitting there on the till with a 40 or 50% off sign. I read calming. So I got it.  But since it was on sale, it also meant my expectations weren’t exactly standing at attention. But my skin surprised me. It worked beautifully. No reactions whatsoever. No problems with the scent either, which matters to me because fragrance and I do not always have the most peaceful relationship. It simply became something I could use without thinking too much about it. And perhaps that’s an underrated quality in skincare. Not everything needs to transform your life, arrive with twelve actives and demand its own complicated ritual. Sometimes you just want to put lotion on your skin and have your skin say: Fine by me.   For the longest time, I kept products I already knew I couldn’t use. Not because I loved them. Because I’d paid for them. I got this POND’S Healthy Hydration Watermelon Glass Skin Alive Toner from Watsons in Vigan. And then I didn’t use it. 😅 I’d been having several heavy skin flares since Vigan, so introducing something new into my routine wasn’t exactly high on my list of good ideas. Vigan was actually where one of those episodes started after I did some pretty aggressive treatment, although, strangely enough, the Vigan sun also helped my skin clear up quickly. But I digress.     Remember these cute Watsons Milk Yogurt Hand Cream I got from Watsons Vigan ? I  tried the blue variant first and wrote about it here . And I finished it! I actually liked it.  So I was excited to try the strawberry one. Halfway through the tube, I started noticing that my eyes would itch whenever my hand got near it. So I thought, I should just avoid touching my eyes when my hands have lotion.  I continued using it for a few days. But then I started noticing that I get rashes on my neck, forehead, and cheeks whenever I use it.  Okay. I didn’t like that. I’m guessing it’s the scent or another active ingredient. I’m not allergic to strawberries. But the scent is quite intense.  So I stopped using it.  It was hard to let go, but I have to.   You ladies know that I have dry lips. Dry skin and lips have been an issue for me my whole life, even when I was a child.  I saw this product at KKV and yesterday, I gave it a try.  It says to apply on the lips 15-20 minutes.  I opened it, pulled out the tray and the mask was folded. I don’t know if it’s the way I pulled it.  Anyway, I applied it and set the timer for 15 minutes.  Immediately, I noticed the skin around my lips to sting. But I didn’t mind it because sometimes my sheet masks also make my skin sting at the beginning and then the stinging will fade.  But then the stinging increased and then my lips started to sting, too, so I quickly removed it and washed my lips and the area around it with water.   This is my travel bottle. I keep the full-size bottles at home I recently discovered another reason to keep this little bottle around. I already like Bioten Micellar Water because it removes my makeup without making my skin complain. With my sensitivities, that alone is enough to make a product worth keeping. But apparently, it has another talent. It cleans my cloud and marshmallow puffs too. ☁️ Foundation stains tend to cling to them, and because they’re soft and fluffy, I don’t like being too aggressive when I wash them. One day, I decided to try my Bioten Micellar Water on the stained areas first. And the foundation came off. Excuse me? A makeup remover that my skin likes and that helps get foundation out of my favorite puffs? That changes things.
