I Don’t Treat My Skin the Same Every Day

This lotion now joins my collection of empties this month I’m letting my body decide now when it comes to choosing products that stay. But my reality is that, my body is ever-changing.  Sometimes she says yes to a particular product then 2 weeks later,  I’m reacting to it.  Other times, I can use a product continuously without any hitch.  But I still want to be careful.  Especially with my skin. So I don’t treat my skin the same every day.  I rotate products.  Days spent at home require something light, easy to absorb.  Also easy on my senses.  Especially to my nose.  Going out requires something stronger.  And that’s where the Luxe Organix above came into play.  I stopped using it daily.  The scent just sat heavy on my chest.  But when I go out?  That’s a different story.  I’m constantly bombarded with different smells that I don’t notice what’s on my skin anymore.  So I used it on my legs....

My Body Decides Now: How I Know What Products to Keep and Let Go

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what stays.  Choosing beauty.  I said that I no longer let things stay that are not aligned with the life I’m building now.  That’s somewhat easier to say about non-tangible things. But what if it’s something - a product, an item, that I just bought? How do I deal with that? Do I throw it away or give it away immediately? What I’m learning in this journey is that I need to let different aspects of my being decide.  With product, of course my body decides.  No matter how much I like something, if my body says no, I stop. Like the lotion above.  The scent lingered too loudly on my skin.  I kept coughing.  But I had just bought it.  And I didn’t quite want to let go of it yet.  So I waited a few days and tried to think of something to do with it.    If my body says a loud no to some products, she also says a loud yes to some.  Like this soap. I didn’t think much of it.  I just saw the big...

Soft Life Saturdays: Beauty, Shopping, Curated Purchases, and Holding It Together Part 2

This is part 2. If you'd like to read part 1 first, head on over here I forgot to say in part 1 that I went to Charles and Keith to buy a pair of shoes. After lunch, we went to H&M to look for clothes for my son but didn't find any in his size. On the way back to Greenbelt, we stopped by Ayala Museum's free section. They were having an exhibit about water. I told my son that we should go because we once discussed this in our homeschool.  Ayala Museum I love this painting This part, where women and girls carry the burden of water collection in some countries, really struck my online students when we discussed this in Ancient Civilizations. This stayed with them. By the way, if you didn't know, I used to teach the students in my homeschool group online. 😊 If you're homeschooling, drop by Ayala Museum to check out this exhibit. The entrance is on the bridgeway to Greenbelt. They regularly have free exhibits in that part of the museum.  Circuit Mall: Uniqlo and Ske...

How to Make the Best Out of Benefit Lemon Aid

I'm sure a lot of you have a love-hate relationship with Lemon Aid. I know I did. When I first tried it, I liked it. As I continued to use it, I started to hate it. There's that creasing and caking issue with it. I don't have oily lids and I still experience those problems. (Surprisingly though, people with oily lids swear by this product). Also, I feel that it does nothing to prolong my eye makeup.  I still had to contend with this much (see below) so I started experimenting with it and used it for different ways. If you are like me, here's how you can get the best out of your Lemon Aid.  Corrector It's basically a corrector so you can use it to neutralize redness and dark circles. Take a small amount with a Q-tip and transfer to your ring finger. Heat it up by rubbing your two ring fingers together. Dab on your under eye area. Be sure to blend, blend, blend! If you have dry skin, I would recommend blending it with a liquid concealer.  ...

Olay Age Defying Revitalizing Body Wash

It seems that I am allergic to anti-aging products whether for the face or the body. I tried this body wash because our favorite body wash was out of stock. I figured that since Olay bath and body products agree with my skin, this one will do too. Aside from that, it has anti-aging properties. Well, I was disappointed. I had rashes all over my body. They didn't last long but still they were itchy. I kept scratching after every shower. It also made my skin a bit dry which is surprising since this is an Olay product. Anyhoo, I won't be buying this again. I will stick to my tried and tested favorite Olay bath products. If you have sensitive skin, I suggest you steer away from this product.

OGX Brazilian Keratin Therapy

I had my hair keratin treated late last year. My stylist suggested it because he didn’t want to curl my hair. It’s still very thin due to post-pregnancy changes. I needed to maintain my new hair style so I tried this line from OGX. These are shampoo, conditioner, oil and treatment. I use the shampoo and conditioner every day. I use the oil before blow drying my hair. As for the treatment, I use it once a week. I purchased the trial pack first just to make sure that I won’t get an allergic reaction. Luckily, I didn’t! I have these in full sizes as well. I bring these small ones whenever we travel. This is a great line that does its job well. I only need to blow dry my hair and it looks like I just went to a salon. I will definitely stick to this line as long as I want to maintain my straight hair.

At Last, A Good-Smelling Nail Polish

I am really loving this nail enamel . My only problem with it is that most department stores don't have a tester so SA's would usually just open the bottle and dab a little on your nails. That is unhygienic and not a good sales practice for me. You are paying for a full bottle, not a used bottle. Anyway, do check it out!
