The Body Shop Raspberry Eau de Toilette

I try not to use one specific perfume or cologne or eau de toilette too much because I eventually develop allergies. I like light scents particularly fruity scents for eau de toilette. For perfumes I like fruity-floral scents. Anyway, I got this Raspberry EDT on a whim. I was attracted to the small bottle and the color. I’m glad it didn’t disappoint. It smelled sweet and as a matter of fact, too sweet but that didn’t last for too long. After a few minutes,  the scent mellowed down. It also does not last the whole day. I don’t bring my sprays with me when I go out as I’m scared they might break in my bag so I make sure to spritz a good amount before I leave the house. This is a good every day scent, by the way. Just don’t use this on a hot day or if you are going to the gym because I don’t think sweat and sweet smells mix.  I won’t buy this again because there’s a ton of sprays out there that I’d like to try.

The Body Shop and Baby Haul

I’ve been out for a while because I’ve been super busy. I’m the only who takes care of my baby during the day. On top of that, I have a ton of work and chores to do.  I’ve also been contemplating for a while if I’m going to let this blog die a natural death by not posting anything but the friendships and connections I made here are priceless. So, I will try to blog as much as I can although there will be some changes. I will probably upload more haul posts and put a bit of commentary on each item I buy. It will be hard for me to write product reviews now but I will try my very best to do so. Anyway, I hope you will still come and visit my blog to get information on products and some shopping tips. Here are some items I bought in the past week. On to the TBS haul: I got tons of body wash in olive, strawberry and satsuma. I also got another bottle of the chamomile makeup remover. The bag is a GWP Will I love or hate the Chocomania line? I’m...

A Haul for Myself

Once I told my mom that all my money goes to my son. It seems I always buy something for him whenever I go to the mall. Don’t get me wrong. I have a long shopping list for myself but my son now comes first until one Sunday… I got 4 packs of BOGO Lulur Love the scent! I was finally able to buy this! Yes! The Leona Lewis for The Body Shop brush Love these soaps! Got these GWP’s As much as I tried, I wasn’t able to resist buying a few things for my son: From my grandmother my baby is teething! This was on sale so we will be trying this out once his current body wash runs out. I will review the TBS products one by one so watch out for those posts!

The Body Shop Savon Mangue

I have a love-hate relationship with this soap. I’ve been using it for over 2 weeks now. It has some good points and bad points. I already said that I am partial to the scent of local mangoes so it’s no surprise that I didn’t like the smell of this soap. At first it reminded me of calamansi (calamondin) then sometimes it smells like a tea bag to me. It has that sour note that sometimes annoys me. As I have small hands, this soap kept slipping when it was still new. Now it’s small enough to fit in my hands. I like the fact that this does not melt easily. Some soaps only last for a week. This is good value for Php195. For a bar soap, I was surprised with its moisturizing powers. It didn’t cure my dry skin but I can clearly tell that it was a bit moisturized. This soap didn’t make my skin itch even without lotion. I haven’t been applying lotion as I’m always at home and I couldn’t take the heat. Plus I can’t apply lotion on my arms as my son sometimes bites/sucks on them....

The Body Shop Goodies

The Body Shop was on sale last week and I managed to get a few goodies: My Satsuma Oil is about to run out so I got this Olive Oil which my doctor highly recommends. It was on sale.  I also got these two soaps in Strawberry and Mango. I’ve read good reviews about the Strawberry Soap while my SIL recommends the Mango scent. By the way, I finally found the photo of  the heart cranberry soap that I reviewed a couple of weeks back: It’s a shame that I dropped this but this was the reason why I bought the bar soaps. As you know, I’m not a huge fan of bar soaps but I’m willing to give them a try because of this. I admit that I am fairly new to the brand’s products. If you have any recommendations as to what I should try, feel free to drop a comment. = )

This week I’m obsessed with…

that heart soap on the bottom right corner. I accidentally deleted the photo that is why I don’t have a close up version. I loved this soap. It’s cranberry scented. It has small beads for exfoliation although I’m not a huge fan of them because they are a bit harsh on my skin. I’m still happy with this soap though as it’s non-drying. The problem is I accidentally dropped it in the toilet. I was able to use it for a week, twice a day. It would have lasted me the whole week.  This is a Christmas edition soap so I guess it’s not available nowadays. I probably won’t repurchase individually but I will probably repurchase this set come Christmas time. I wasn’t feeling yesterday. All I did was sleep and lounge in bed that’s why I was not able to blog. Next week will be a very busy week for work but I hope to be able to blog regularly.

May 2013 Empties

I’m really happy that I was able to finish a lot of makeup in May aside from the usual toiletries. The Face Shop Nail Polish Remover and Johnson’s Cooling Powder I don’t usually apply powders but May was really tough and nights were so unbearably hot. My husband would “bathe” himself in this cooling powder. He would then apply some on my back. We would have a bit of relief, enough to fall asleep. Etude House Surprise Liquid Concealer and NARS Palm Beach This concealer is one of the best budget concealers out there. Back when I reviewed the NARS Palm Beach, I said that it was too dark for me but when summer hit, it was the perfect shade so I’m glad that I hit pan before summer ends. I finally finished this annoying nail polish remover from Etude House! Will definitely NOT repurchase. I super love this hand cream from The Body Shop. I just don’t like the packaging as the sides burst open. I won’t repurchase as there are tons of products out there that have bet...

My Must-Have Products for Women in their 30’s

I’m 31 and as I get older, my product collection evolves. I’m lucky that I learned to take care of my skin at an early age. The only thing that wrecked my skin was my bout with steroids but I’m slowly recovering from it. I’d like to share with you my must-have products. Moisturizer First is skin care. If you don’t have a concrete skin care regime yet, you better start now. Anti-aging products are popular during this age but I think I’m allergic to them so I choose my products carefully. A good moisturizer is a must-have and.. Eye Cream Stress can take a toll on our features, especially our eye area and you need a good product to combat that. Eye Liners Women in their 30’s can get away with bold cat eyes so you better have the tools to make them. You can choose liquid, gel or the good old reliable pencil. Cheek Tint You need some color in your cheeks and a good cheek tint can give you a healthy flush. It’s also good if you have dry skin. Beauty Oil I didn’t ...

My Favorite Multitasking Products

I didn’t realize the importance of multitasking makeup until I got so busy with Hyphen and Table E last year. I now appreciate them and enjoy using them even on days when it’s not so harried. Here are my favorites: First is Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl. This is a highlighter but I used it as a primer before and it gave me that dewy look. I haven’t opened this tube yet because I still have a lot of highlighters to finish. Next is my Pot Rouge from Bobbi Brown. I only used this for my lips but then one day my cheeks were so dry that I needed a cream blush and this turned out to be the perfect shade. I now use it for my cheeks as well. I probably won’t be able to stop praising this Stila One Step. I am almost through with this bottle and I will really miss it once I hit pan. Finally, these two lip and cheek creams from Etude House. They are perfect for everyday use. I think these are limited edition. I haven’t seen any lip and cheek creams from the brand in a while. Oh, I almo...

Time for a Summer Makeup Kit Makeover! (Part 2)

Continuing with our series, the next products you need are bronzers: You can use a cream bronzer (my current favorite) or you can stick to your regular powder-based bronzer: Remember that one tends to get darker during summer so you may need to change your shade. Bronzers look amazing especially if you have tanned skin from all that beach hopping! If you’re going to the beach, don’t forget to take your favorite bronzer with you. Opt for cream ones that have a bit of shimmer so you sparkle when the sun hits you. Next are cheek colors. Now I find that powder blushes are not enough during summer especially if you have oily skin. You need to layer your colors so they stay longer. I prefer using a lip and cheek cream or a cheek tint like Cha Chat Tint from Benefit. To avoid that sticky feeling with cream blushes, I set it with powder blushes in almost the same shade. I say almost because I enjoy mixing them up. By the way, Cha Chat Tint is the perfect summer shade for me! You...
