This week’s makeup box

I went to the doctor yesterday. I never imagined that I would look forward to hospital visits just so I can get out of the house for a few hours. Anyway, here’s what I used for my makeup. MAC Fix Rosebud Salve Estee Lauder Mascara Bobbi Brown Brow Shaper Shu Uemura BB Mousse Revlon Liquid Foundation Bobbi Brown Corrector Bobbi Brown Gel Liner Bobbi Brown Palette Too Faced Leopard Love Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler NARS 15 Palette UDPP Etude House Beauty Sponge Benefit Confessions of a Concealholic Revlon Bronzer/Blush Duo I used my Duwop Isla Sirena palette for my eyes and lips. I was really surprised that the lipstick turned out to be very pretty on my lips: Too bad it does not last long. I had to re-apply while I was still at home and when we got to the hospital my cousin handed me my Carmex. She said there was no more lipstick and my lips were chapping.

My Must-Have Products for Women in their 30’s

I’m 31 and as I get older, my product collection evolves. I’m lucky that I learned to take care of my skin at an early age. The only thing that wrecked my skin was my bout with steroids but I’m slowly recovering from it. I’d like to share with you my must-have products. Moisturizer First is skin care. If you don’t have a concrete skin care regime yet, you better start now. Anti-aging products are popular during this age but I think I’m allergic to them so I choose my products carefully. A good moisturizer is a must-have and.. Eye Cream Stress can take a toll on our features, especially our eye area and you need a good product to combat that. Eye Liners Women in their 30’s can get away with bold cat eyes so you better have the tools to make them. You can choose liquid, gel or the good old reliable pencil. Cheek Tint You need some color in your cheeks and a good cheek tint can give you a healthy flush. It’s also good if you have dry skin. Beauty Oil I didn’t ...

My Chanel and Estee Lauder Summer Picks

I’m still browsing the web for good finds. Here are my summer picks from two of my favorite brands. From Estee Lauder, I choose this Aerin Lip and Cheek color  in Natural. I haven’t tried the Aerin brand yet but I’m excited. I’m also excited about the Cello Shots line but I’m more interested in this cheek color called Pink Patent. I am in love with Estee Lauder blushes. From Chanel, I like the Idylle and Pygmalion lipstick and the Bel-Argus nail color. All these items are from the Summer Collection so I probably won’t be able to get my hands on them but if I were to choose one product, I’d go with the Cello Shots cheek color.

My Favorite Blushes

If you’ve seen my Makeup Collection 2013 post, you’d know that I only have a few blushes compared to palettes. I have no idea why I don’t buy blushes that often but I always go crazy about palettes. Anyway, here are my favorites in my collection. Estee Lauder Rose Nuance This is my first high end blush. It’s not cheap but it’s a good investment. I’ve had this forever and it still looks new. This is a good blush that I use for special occasions. I also use this for my special clients. The monochromatic shade just looks gorgeous on cheeks.   MAC Mighty Aphrodite I think this is the reason why I don’t buy a lot of blushes. This blush is huge and it will take forever to finish! This is a good everyday blush. I always swirl my brush around to get a good combination of shades.  MAC Giggly This is a cute blush that will give you a cute pop of pink on your cheeks.  I normally use this blush when I’m feeling creative with my makeup. Stila Ph Bl...

My Gold Palette

You can’t see how gold it is here because the gold cover keeps reflecting the light but it’s really gold. This is the Estee Lauder Pure Color Palette. It features 6 Pure Color Eyeshadows and 1 Signature Silky Powder Blush. There should be some blushes on that bottom compartment which I removed. Here are swatches: The eyeshadows are Hot Cinnamon Shimmer, Sepia Sand Satin, Amazing Grey Shimmer, Winking Periwinkle Satin, Intense Violet Matte and Wild Sable Matte. The blush is Nude Rose which you can barely see in the photo. I can barely see it on my cheek too so I layer it and blend it with another blush. I got this palette as a GWP from Estee Lauder US. We did not carry this here. I also use this as a travel palette. You can go from day to night with this palette. I’m not a huge neutrals person but I mostly use the neutrals in this palette. I also use the blue often. I think I stick to regular makeup when I’m in a different place as I’m always on the go. I don’t...

October Cosmetics

As mentioned in my previous post,  I will be grouping my cosmetics monthly so that I will be able to use all of them. If you only knew how much cosmetics I have! I really want to use and finish them all. So I hope I can have good results with this experiment. Here are my October Cosmetics: I know it looks chaotic but don’t worry! I grouped them and took individual photos. Let’s start with the face: I seriously need to finish my Laura Mercier cream foundation (Bamboo Beige). It’s hanging by a thread and I think I only have 3 uses left for this tube. Next is the Palgantong Powder in Pearl Beige. I haven’t used this yet although I have used it on my clients. Let’s see if it can at least live with my acidic face for a couple of hours. This Benefit That Gal primer is also hanging by a thread so I better finish it fast. Next is Benefit High Beam and ELF HD Undereye Setting Powder (to be blogged soon). Lastly, the Benefit Confessions of a Concealaholic kit. This is another produc...

So Sulit Purchase!

This was supposed to be one of my birthday gifts for myself but it arrived more than a month later. I’m not complaining because it’s soooo sulit! I bought these two: And got this bag: And these: (pot of moisturizer missing as I gave it to mum) FOR FREE!!! Isn’t that amazing? I originally bought 3 lippies but the other shade was out of stock and they couldn’t replace it anymore so I told them that I will just change my order but they said they can’t tinker with the system anymore but they will still include the gift with purchase. Yay! What’s your recent so sulit purchase?

If Only I Could Turn Back Time

Well, actually, I can with the new Estee Lauder Time Zone Night Anti-Line/Wrinkle Cream. I just turned 29 and of course, I am very keen on protecting and maintaining my skin. I don’t want to have lines and wrinkles before I turn 30. But let’s face it. We, living in the city, are exposed to dust, pollution, irritants, chemicals and what have you. The list does not yet even include our activities and the things that we put inside our bodies. I live a very hectic life nowadays what with taking care of my family, cats, managing Hyphen, going to bazaars and manning our booth, etc. etc. etc. When I was at the La Salle Bazaar, I noticed that I developed this very deep line from under my eyes running to almost the spot where the bone starts. That’s under my left eye. With the combination of Clinique’s Moisture Rich Eye Cream and the Estee Lauder Time Zone Night Cream, that line is no longer as deep as it was 3 weeks ago. I apply the Clinique Moisture Rich under my eyes and on the area su...

Ze Blushes

I think of all the makeup types, blushes and eye liners are the least that I buy. I believe in hitting the pan first before buying another blush. But this thought proved to be frustrating several times in the past when I would do an eye look and couldn’t find the perfect shade of blush or when I do another person’s makeup. So, last December I started to explore my horizons when it comes to blushes. Here, I will feature 3 blushes from affordable to high end. Let’s go with the high end first: As you can see, the compact is lovely. It stays closed too and is not hard to open. Isn’t that gorgeous? I’m smitten when I see monochromatic makeup.  Here’s a swatch: I exaggerated this a bit so that you can see the shade. This blush is awesome. I used this for C’s prom look. It has a very silky feel and the shimmers are subtle. Staying power is good. It lasts several hours, more if you spray on MAC Fix or Urban Decay All-Nighter .  This blush costs Php1,800. When I paid for ...
