The Glow Kit Story — A Little Bundle of Everyday Hope

It all started when I asked our porter, Jeff, at the hotel (from my recent staycation, which I'll tell you about soon) to take photos of the hotel facade. The Coast Guard were there for an event. Some were hanging out outside. They saw Jeff taking photos and so we got to talking. They learned that I was a blogger and one of them asked for some stickers. I didn't have any.

We were waiting for our car when this encounter happened. I thought about his request during the ride and that night, I decided to make a Glow Kit. I've met a lot of people during my travels and they were curious about my blogs. It's so hard to explain to them that I blog, not vlog (although I do have a YouTube channel that I update from time to time. Writing is my first love.). And I've always felt that I should leave a part of me behind, especially when a vendor or a staff treats me with so much kindness. I just haven't figured out what yet. I didn't want to leave just a business card. I wanted something more. Something that reflects my giver personality.  Thanks to the Coast Guard, the Glow Kit came into fruition.

Now, these Glow Kits would make a nice gift for these people to know more about my blogs and to show my appreciation.

The Meaning Behind the Glow Kit

Each Glow Kit is my way of saying, “Thank you for accommodating my requests. Thank you for taking care of me and my family. Here’s a little light for your day.”

Inside, there’s a notepad, a pencil, and a few surprises — all made from scratch by yours truly and packed with love.

I made the first batch in 4 hours last Saturday night. I was determined to bring some for our trip the following day. I'm so proud of what I accomplished. I'm so proud of this Glow Kit.

Each time I hand out a Glow Kit — whether it’s to a hotel staff, a vendor, or one of my Glow Guides — it's a reminder that I'm not just giving paper and pencils. I'm telling them that it's okay to pause.

To write.

To breathe.

To glow.

I made my tagline into a sticker:

Stay soft. Stay strong. Stay Glowing.
LET'S GLOW

Here's why I chose this tagline:

🌸 Stay Soft —

I honor gentleness in a

world that rewards hardness.

I try to lead with kindness

intuition, and grace-even when

I'm tired, even when I've

been hurt

That softness? That's my

superpower.

💪 Stay Strong

I've rebuilt myself over and

over.

I fought battles most people

don't even see

Strength, for me, doesn't roar.

It's quiet. It's calm. It gets back

up again and again.

✨ Stay Glowing —

Not just beautiful-radiant

With purpose, joy, soul.

We glow from our spirit, our

story, our truth

Not from filters or flash. From

within.

This is my message for you, Glow Girls:

Stay soft.

Because the world will try to harden you. But softness is power.

It is gentleness in chaos, beauty in the mundane, kindness in the everyday,

Let your softness remind others it's safe to be tender, too.

Stay Strong

Because strength is not just loud or loud-spoken

Strength is showing up when it's hard.

It's saying no when your heart says please.

It's choosing peace over perfection

Stay Glowing

Because you were never meant to dim

Your glow is your truth. Your joy. Your healing

Shine softly, shine boldly, but above all- shine fully

Let’s Glow. 🌷

After buying a lot of stuff on the first floor, we headed upstairs to eat a light lunch. Mom was getting hungry. My son and I just ate, but we said that we will accompany her and will just order something light.

All About Eyes

Lately I’m finding myself obsessed with skin care products, prevention in particular. I'm not getting younger and nobody likes lines and wrinkles, right? I should have done this in my early twenties but those were hard times and we didn’t have enough to support our daily lives, let alone vanity splurges. So now, I’m on hyper mode. I did not place any expectations on this product. I’ve had it with products claiming they can do this and that. I just tried the product thinking that if it works then great, if not then I’ll just find a new one. I wasn’t expecting a dramatic change but 2 weeks into using this product, I noticed that my under eye area has become lighter. The lines are also not as deep as they were before I used this product. I stopped using the Garnier eye products because I’m allergic to them so that means I’m not using any whitening products for that area. I am truly impressed with this product. I didn’t take a before and after photo as I wasn’t expecting this at ...

When You Need a Tiny Reset (Glow Cards Are Here)

The shade is actually a dusty mauve or muted orchid. It looks blue on the image, but it's not blue.  There are days when I don’t need a full day off — I just need a moment. A tiny reset. A quiet pause in the swirl of noise. That’s how Glow Cards were born.
