I’m Feeling Peachy: A Soft Luxe System for Pretty Productivity (and Saving Food, Too)

But this year, today, I’m saying goodbye to waste, and hello to pretty productivity.

Introducing Peach & Quiet — my handcrafted Pantry Ledger system for meals, markets, and soft luxe moments at home. 💕

Born From Waste (and a Little Tantrum)

This project started with:

Yesterday. Me, hungry.

While rummaging through our bag of snacks I found a bag of sweet potato chips I forgot existed. It's a good thing it was still crunchy! 

Then this morning, I was excited to make chicken noodle soup with Hokkien noodles for breakfast only to discover that the noodles were… expired. 😮‍💨

Readers of my food blog know how much I hate throwing away food. But sometimes, I'm forced into situations where I'm not able to use up everything we have in the fridge and pantry. This morning was the last straw.  I realized I was throwing away not just food — but money, energy, and peace of mind.

So, I created a soft luxe system that’s both functional and feminine, designed to help me track:

And what’s inspiring me to cook 💡

Pretty, Peachy, and Practical

I’m not gonna lie — part of my motivation was aesthetic. 

I wanted a system that matched my lifestyle and my style.

Something that made budgeting feel like a mood board — not a punishment.

I talked about my Practical Luxury here and How I Define "Worth It" here. I've been giving my life a makeover for a few months, finances included.  This Pantry Ledger system that I made reflects my soft luxe lifestyle and philosophy. 

Let's talk a little bit about my Practical Luxury and how I define "worth it." As you can see in the flatlay, all the makeup is from BYS, an affordable Australian brand I really love. What drew me in wasn’t just the price — it was the formulation. BYS avoids many of the harsh, irritating ingredients common in mainstream makeup. Their products are hypoallergenic and don’t trigger my sensitive skin.

The best part? The performance is amazing for the price. The eyeshadows rival my Urban Decay palettes, and the foundation performs just as well as my NARS — but at a fraction of the cost.

This is what I call practical luxury — affordable, functional, skin-safe, and beautiful.

There’s also a TFS Grapefruit Lotion in the photo. The way I choose skincare is the same way I buy food: I splurge on what directly affects my health and well-being (like lotion or meat), and save on items that don’t (like eyeshadow or pepper).

That balance — of quality over hype, and intention over excess — is the heart of my soft luxe life.

Why I Made This (A Finance POV)

Let’s talk numbers:

Every time we waste food, we’re throwing away money.

Peace of mind

I wanted to stop that cycle — not by making boring spreadsheets, but by creating a system that felt like self-care. I love to journal design and scrapbook, and, well, you get the point. I'm a crafter and an artist, so naturally my budget sheets need to be pretty but functional! It shouldn't be something I'd use today and forget about tomorrow.  

This ledger isn’t just about meal planning — it’s about:

I ship internationally via DHL because they're safe and fast. If you're in the US, you can get your package just after 3 days. But they say that it can take a week. But compared to the local post office where you'll get your package after a month or 3-6(!), DHL's one week wait is still nothing.
