Weekday Whimsy Diaries: A Missed Text, Super50 Finds, and My Curated Purchases

My son was supposed to have his piano lessons one day last week, but when I was dressed and went downstairs to book a car, I saw that the studio manager texted 2 hours earlier saying that lessons were cancelled that day. I was charging my phone and got ready that's why I missed it. We were dressed and ready to go and had to deliver some pasalubong (homecoming gifts) to the teachers from our Taal trip,  anyway, so we decided to just go and make a date out of it.

✨️ Today's Look Breakdown: ✨️

Eyes: BYS Golden Hour Palette

Lips: MAC Thanks, It's MAC

Cheeks: Miniso Minimalist Cream Blush 07, Golden Hour Highlighter and Bronzer

Bag and Shoes: Charles & Keith

We went to school first to drop off our pasalubong, but the studio manager wasn't there. He was at the music hall so we went there. It's a good thing he saw us going up the escalator, so I told him to stay where he was and we will go to him. We gave him the gifts then went to the mall to do our errands.

First Stop: Super50

I needed to buy some dish sponges that we will bring to our staycation (stay tuned for that!), so we went to Super50.

I was drawn to these stools with clear bases.

And these clear pails

They had a lot of these bath gels and lotions that are reminiscent of Bath and Body Works

There was a whole shelf dedicated to Coke products! My son and I don't drink soda, but my husband cannot live without Coke, so I took photos. Plus I think the merch are cool!

I'd love one of those trays but I already have a ton of trays. 😁 Well..maybe soon.

I really liked this coin bank

I want these tubs for parties

This is a coin bank, too

Oh, and these canisters! I like collecting canisters!

Found some pretty plates. We didn't bring the car that day so I skipped the plates.

This is a leftover from the Pioneer Woman collection

Their new feature is from the Martha Stewart line!

A glimpse into my basket. They were having some crazy sale that day and I couldn't help it!

Went Out Empty-Handed from Daiso

Our next stop was Daiso, but the item I was looking for was out of stock. I did find this pretty pouch though.

What to put? Brushes? But, I don't think it's long enough for mine.

A Realization at Mumuso

I found these pretty pouches and beauty bags at Mumuso

I passed by a mirror and realized that I had 4 things on my list. I literally wrote down the things I needed to buy. How the heck did I end up pulling out my big Mango tote to carry my purchases from Super50??! 😆

We went to Shopwise to buy water and things I was going to put in our Hotel Staff Appreciation Gift Bags. While at checkout, there was a foreigner in front of us and I took a photo of his cart and told my friend that the foreigner was so Filipinized already based on the items on his cart - Lucky Me Pancit Canton, Oishi Sponge, Lemon Square Cupcakes, and so many other things!

I'm thinking of getting this shopping tote. I really like the green and those handles.

I got less than 10 items but needed a cart because we had so much stuff!

My Curated Purchases from Super50

I need a lot of eye makeup brushes, so I hoarded these.

Watsons

There was a promo for the tissues - buy 3 for Php199 ($3.44)

I've been dreaming of this Blue Moon palette because I need blues in my makeup repertoire. I've only seen it at Watsons Greenbelt. When I entered Watsons, my Glow Guide Sarah saw me immediately and I asked if she had the blue palette. She had a big smile and said yes! She said they were just delivered!

When I went there, BYS was having a buy 1 get 2 eyebrow products promo.  You can get any combination! But I didn't need eyebrow products, so I skipped. I was tempted though. When I got home, I thought about it and said maybe I want to try their brow palette. If it's good, it could be the perfect travel brow palette. Shucks.. I should have gotten it! It was such a good deal!

I also got this lip brush because that's another brush that's missing in my collection. I have 2 or 3 lip brushes, I think. I just don't want to keep washing brushes that's why I'm trying to build my collection.

When we got home, I started to unpack my purchases and started to pack our luggages.

Stay tuned for our next adventure! How was your week, Glow Girl?

Stay soft. Stay strong. Stay Glowing.

LET'S GLOW. 🩷

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
