Berry Intentional: Because I Refuse to Live on Autopilot

“If it’s not perfect — I don’t buy it.”
That’s not just my rule for clothes now. It’s my rule for life.

I used to live in survival mode.

Every peso, every errand, every meal — all reactive. Whatever was urgent, whatever I could afford, whatever I could grab. I thought I was being productive. I was just exhausted.

Now, I choose to live Berry Intentional.

✨ In the Kitchen: A Calm and Confident Plan

That’s what The Pantry Ledger is for.

This version, Berry Intentional, reminds me that planning my meals is not a chore — it’s an act of self-care. When I map out what we eat, what we already have, and what we need to buy, I’m not just saving money.

I’m saving my sanity.

  • No more last-minute panic meals.
  • No more forgotten leftovers.
  • No more spending on the same things twice.

Each dish we cook is a choice made ahead, not a reaction to pressure.

👗 In the Fitting Room: If It’s Not Perfect, It’s a No

Being intentional doesn’t stop at groceries.

This year, I’ve decided to be ruthless with love when it comes to clothes. I’ve tried on pieces I liked — but didn’t love. They didn’t fit right. The neckline pulled weird. The fabric was itchy. The sleeves were too long.

So I left them behind.

I really liked this Poplin button down, but the shoulders were too big. The smaller size was too small on my chest. I liked it so much that it took a long time for me to decide. I even messaged my bestie to help me out. In the end, I decided that it's a no.

Not because they weren’t pretty. But because they weren’t me.

“If it doesn’t spark confidence or comfort — it doesn’t belong in my closet.”

No more “I'm buying this becaues it's on sale.”
No more “Maybe I can get away with the big shoulders?”
No more “Maybe I can use it one day. ”

My money deserves better. I deserve better.

🧠 In My Mind: No More Autopilot

This is more than budgeting or choosing clothes. This is about rewriting old habits.

I’m finally learning to pause before I purchase.
To breathe before I commit.
To feel what’s aligned before I act.

Living intentionally means I’m no longer running just to keep up. I’m walking with purpose — and peace.

It doesn't matter if I take a long time to decide on something. Shopping shouldn't be rushed. I curate my purchases and think about where and how I would use them and for how long. This is how I respect myself for all my hardwork.

A Legacy of Intention 🍷🇫🇷

If you’ve ever wondered why I’m so picky with my clothes, careful with my pantry, or obsessed with having just the right things (and nothing more), I think I owe it to my great-grandpa — who was French. They say the French have a way of turning even the simplest parts of life into an art form. Whether it’s choosing the perfect dress or making sure my groceries don’t go to waste, I think I inherited that spirit. From curated wardrobes to grocery lists and pantry ledgers, I like my life to be intentional, meaningful, and beautiful. Merci, grand-père. 🍷✨

🍇 So Why Berry Intentional?

Because life is too short to live in default mode.

  • I want to be present when I cook for my family.
  • I want to choose what I wear with joy, not regret.
  • I want to stop wasting time, energy, and money on things that don’t serve me.

This pantry ledger helps me do that — one calm meal at a time.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
