🍐 Perfectly Pear-ed: How I Saved ₱2,000 ($34) — and My Sanity — at the Grocery and Some Christmas Finds

I didn't blog yesterday because I was exhausted. Lady Flo came at a time when I needed to finish the book I was writing and these Pantry Ledgers. Then we had to do the groceries because neighboring streets will be closed next weekend for All Saint's and All Souls' Days. And regular Glow Girls know that Lady Flo's visit is my Sacred Rest. I was already pushing it for 2 days, so I had to stop on day 3 to rest. 

Yesterday, we went to Landers and S&R, two of the biggest and busiest grocery stores. And it just so happened there was a trick-or-treat event going on at Landers— kids in costumes, parents pushing strollers, candy booths everywhere. You can imagine the chaos. And Landers carts are big, like Costco's, so it was hard to maneuver with all those kids running around. 

But guess what?

Our usual two-hour grocery run was done in under 45 minutes. 😮

We were in. We were out. We got everything we needed — nothing more, nothing less.

✍️ What Changed?

I brought my Peach & Quiet Pantry Ledger (Grocery List) with me.

I was writing my grocery list in the car. I was confident because I already knew what's in my fridge and pantry, and what I was missing. 

At first I wanted to bring the other ledgers but since:

✅ I knew what snacks we still had.

✅ I knew how much juice, noodles, and pasta were left.

✅ I knew what needed restocking, and what we had more than enough of.

I skipped them and just brought the Grocery List. 

No second-guessing. No wandering aimlessly. No overbuying.

Some Christmas Finds at Landers

If this pack came out when my son was 5, I would've bought this! 

We've tasted the hazelnut and chocolate versions of this, but I'm not a huge PB&J fan, so I'm skipping it. These are perfect for stocking stuffers, though.

I love these luxury cream wafers in a can. They're perfect for Christmas gifts! And you can't go wrong with that price! Php449.85 ($8.49) for 5 cans? Yes, please! 

They also had these individual Nutcraker Cookie Tins. 

And look at these pretty tins for butter cookies! 

And I found two interesting candies:

Chupa Chups Babol 

Skittles Pop'd - Has anyone tried these? It says they're freeze dried. Share in the comments if you have!

Because that’s how I felt: perfectly paired with my pantry and fridge.

There was harmony between what I had and what I needed.

No guilt, no waste, no overspending — just pure, productive peace.
