Soft Luxe Travels: My Travel Wrist Candies: What I’m Bringing to Vigan

This weekend, I’m off to Vigan! šŸŽ‰ I’m so excited for the trip — the cobblestone streets, the food, the culture, and of course, the chance to take a little breather. While I’ll be keeping my real jewelry at home for safety, I still want to look chic. So, I packed a mini jewelry box filled with my favorite wrist candies — fun, lightweight bracelets that carry both style and story.

Here’s a peek at what I’m bringing:

Murano Bracelets – Artsy Classics

Back in college, I made bead jewelry (earrings, bracelets, necklaces) and sold them to fellow students and faculty to pay for tuition. My bead jewelry were so in demand that I started joining bazaars. I sold a lot of bead jewelry back in the day. My pieces were even featured in a magazine. I'm actually thinking of making bead jewelry again. What do you think, Glow Ladies?

I made these colorful Murano glass bracelets back in my 20s, and they’ve stood the test of time. The playful mix of colors makes them perfect for pairing with casual outfits during the day. They instantly add an artistic, travel-inspired touch to any look.

Styling Note: Wear them when you’re exploring the streets — they go beautifully with breezy dresses or even a simple tee-and-jeans combo. The colorful patterns instantly elevate a white tee and jeans outfit.

Red Elephant Charm Bracelet – A Sentimental Favorite

This one’s extra special. I made it when my son was a toddler because he loved elephants so much. Every time I wear it, I’m reminded of those sweet early years of motherhood. Alongside it, I’m bringing another red-toned bracelet with a quirky seahorse charm for a little seaside vibe.

Styling Note: Perfect for fun daytime adventures — they bring a cheerful pop of color to any outfit. I'm planning to wear this with shorts.

Crystal Bracelet – Sparkle Without the Worry

I also handmade this crystal bracelet, and I love how it sparkles in the light. If I remember correctly, these are semi-precious beads.  It looks polished enough for a dinner out but still feels easy and low-maintenance compared to fine jewelry.

Styling Note: Ideal for evenings in Vigan — pair it with a dress or even a crisp white blouse for a touch of elegance.

Yellow Jade Bracelet – Real, but Relaxed

These sunny yellow stones are actually real gemstones, most likely Yellow Jade. I can't remember anymore. I bought them years ago at Greenbelt.  I love the warm glow they give off — understated yet still grounding. It’s a great way to carry a bit of real stone energy without worrying about losing something too precious.

Styling Note: Works beautifully as a standalone piece for a chic, minimalist vibe.

Green Bead Stackables – Playful and Easy

These green bead bracelets are simple, stackable, and so much fun. They’re the kind of accessories that don’t need much thought — just slip them on and go. I also featured them in this post.

Styling Note: Layer them with the Murano pieces for a more eclectic look, or wear them alone for casual sightseeing days.

What I'm Wearing During the Trip

✨ These two simple but chic pieces  — a white beaded bracelet and a gray stone bracelet with metallic spacers are my wrist candies for the journey itself. These are perfect when I want to keep things subtle but still polished. The white gives that clean, minimalist vibe, while the gray adds a hint of elegance without being flashy. Together, they balance out the bolder colors of my other wrist candies.

Styling Note: I'll be wearing these with my jeggings and navy blue shirt.

Earrings

Everything fits into this small jewelry box 😊

As for earrings, I'll be bringing gold hoops, the handwoven Cordillera Textile earrings from Museo Kordilyera, and those half circle dangling earrings.

Why I’m Choosing Wrist Candies Over Real Jewelry

When traveling, I prefer accessories that are lightweight, fun, and not too precious. That way, I can still enjoy styling my outfits without the stress of keeping track of expensive pieces. These wrist candies give me all the style I need while keeping things practical.

✨ Plus, this ties into my lip product dilemma (yes, I’m leaving some high-end glosses at home too — but more on that in the next post!).
