Baguio Adventures 2025: Culture Meets Casual: My Museo Kordilyera x H&M Baguio x Uniqlo Curated Fashion Finds

Baguio is very special to me, not just because it's my healing place, but because it's where I find treasures that I don't find in Manila. During a quick visit to Museo Kordilyera, I didn’t expect to come home with a handful of fashion finds—but here we are.

This nondescript kraft envelope holds my fashion haul from Museo Kordilyera. I like how they thought of using a recyclable and multi-purpose mundane thing to package your museum purchases.

This haul combines local craftsmanship with a bit of high-street flair. Think: Cordillera culture meets everyday wear, with a touch of “I’ll probably style this later into a full OOTD post” thrown in. 😉

🪡 Museo Kordilyera Finds

1. Printed shirt

A loose-fit shirt printed with traditional Cordillera motifs. It’s the kind of piece that feels like both a souvenir and a future favorite—light, breathable, and wearable even on Manila days. It’s rare to find something this cultural and this comfortable.

2. Brass Lingling-O Earrings

These were my absolute favorite. They're bold, beautiful, and rooted in tradition. The Lingling-O is a status symbol worn by highland women. It’s a statement piece with soul—and I love that I now have one in my collection. I also bought one for mom.

4. Other Earrings

These are contemporary handcrafted earrings that feature handwoven Cordillera textiles. I love the colors and the bold designs. I can see myself wearing these with just a plain V-neck shirt and jeggings. It instantly elevates my errands outfit.

3. Barrettes

Simple yet striking. They pair well with most of my wardrobe pieces and will definitely shine in a future half-up hairstyle post. I also got a pair for my sister. These are handcrafted hair clips that also feature handwoven Cordillera textiles.

🛍️ H&M Baguio Picks

1. Pleated Denim Skirt

You know me—I can’t resist anything that adds movement to an outfit. And I love skirts, period. I saw this on the rack and immediately got it.

I'm petite, but I really love long skirts.

I walked around Baguio with an injured toe and a quad cane. Will tell you the story in a future post.

✨ Why This Haul Matters

For me, shopping isn’t just about trends. It’s about pieces that spark ideas, inspire future stories, and connect me to something deeper—whether it’s culture, a memory, or just a really good outfit.

I didn’t plan to shop at Museo Kordilyera. But walking through those halls, surrounded by stories and craftsmanship, I couldn’t help but want to take a small part of it home. And that’s exactly what this haul is—a quiet little celebration of heritage and style. This is my way of supporting local artisans and the women of Cordillera. I'm shamelessly promoting them in my blog because this is my heritage, and I refuse to let it die. So, if you visit the museum, be sure to stop by the Museum Shop and take home a piece of culture.

We also dropped by Uniqlo and found Super Mario shirts! We love the Super Mario Universe, especially Yoshi. We're so lucky we got the last shirts in my son's size!

📌 Coming Soon

I’ll be styling these pieces for an upcoming post! You’ll get to see how I mix museum finds with modern staples for everyday wear—because culture shouldn’t be kept in a display case. It should be worn, lived in, and loved. ❤️

P.S.

I ran out of skirt hangers. Good thing we dropped by Daiso yesterday and I got this set for only Php98 (approx $1.73). Check out my back-to-school Daiso finds here. It's a 3-part series, so if you're a Daiso junkie, stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
