All my (makeup) bags are packed…

I’m ready to go to my makeup gig tomorrow! I only have one traincase so I put the other makeup in my megabox but the plastic container couldn’t support the weight so I went to Muji yesterday in search for the perfect makeup bag. Lo and behold:

muji makeup bag, by bitsandtreats

(I wanted to do a video post on this but I’m still too lazy as I just woke up.) Edit: This was supposed to be uploaded this morning but the Internet was so freaking slow.

I love this bag because it’s lighter than a regular traincase. It has no divisions inside but nothing a little creativity wouldn’t fix.

There are 4 compartments outside the bag. I put my falsies in the front pockets.

Here’s the cover inside, another compartment:

This is the top portion:

On the right side I have my palettes and the huge toner from Etude House:

More palettes underneath plus  my Revlon Photo Ready foundies and lippies:

The other lippies are already on the palette with the silver clasp on the left. I hate bringing tubes.

There are holders on the right side where I put my stick concealers:

Here’s the second layer on the left, more palettes. LOL:

There are also holders on the left side:

This bag also comes with a brush holder. It’s in the center at the back compartment:

It’s a shame… I can only put 5 brushes in here then the rest have to go to the left side.

It has an elastic band to hold the brushes in place:

Stay tuned for part 2!

Update on Giveaway

Hello ladies! Please be patient with my giveaway. I’m asking MB to do a little project for me and until that’s finished, my giveaway has to wait for its turn. The two are somewhat connected. I’m also looking for more sponsors to make this a really good giveaway. Thanks for your patience!

Our Muse

You all know that my regular muse is my cousin C. One day when I was out with my best friend of 24 years, I told her that if her..ehem..granddaughter L needed my services as MUA to just tell me. (My best friend C is only 30-ish. L is her granddaughter from a niece. She’s not old.) Fortunately, she did! She was joining the Santacruzan.

Here she is, getting prepped by Ninang C:

Isn’t she adorable?

Here’s what I did for her eyes:

Here’s the final look:

I used the Fanny Serrano dual finish foundation on her and it stayed the whole night!

The Japanese Kawaii pose is a must !

Here’s the 3 of us with my best friend C. I was only able to do her eyes as we were pressed for time. They were getting ready for the procession at this stage. Sorry for the haggarda versoza look. Of course I didn’t bother retouching my makeup. I applied makeup in the morning before going to church and didn’t bother touching up when I got home. I just changed clothes then went to my appointment.

me, celine, lovie

I super love my Uniqlo shirts! This one is a collaboration with CANMAKE cosmetics. More EOTD’s coming! I’m having a grand time writing.

FOTD: Blues & Grays

I wore this look on a day out with my cousin C. We went to the mall for some shopping. I remember that day being so warm that I decided to wear my blue polka dot dress as it was light and cool.

trip lang

Yeah, I know C dominates this photo but you can at least see the dress. And yeah, this was at Rustan’s Ladies Room. LOL.

Because I was wearing blue, I opted for blues and grays for my eyes. I am happy to report that  I’m not scared of blue anymore.

I used my Too Faced Glamour To Go Fairy Edition palette for this look. I added sparkles to the inner corners of my eyes just because I felt fabulous in spite of the heat. I got a lot of compliments with this look. I feel really proud when MUAs compliment a look that I made myself.

I used my bright pink lip & cheek color pot from Etude House on my lips. More on that on a future post. I always wear my hair up on really hot and humid days. I just can’t stand my hair on my nape on very hot days. Camwhoring inside the Rustan’s LR is becoming quite a habit for C and I. LOL.

Bye, Bye Dark Circles

I know this is an overdue post but forgive me as I had the SuperSale bazaar to attend to a day after this event.

I was there bright and early as I know everybody from Bobbi Brown was excited and I wanted to be there to show my support. After all, I got the invite more than a month before this event was even given a specific date. And true enough, everybody was at their best.

Here are photos:

The event was held at the Grand Mall area. When I got there, people from the PRESS were being entertained. Oh boy, did they have fun with the makeovers and the photo sessions.

That’s Kai Vinson’s spot. Of course, he was the leader of the pack.

The Bobbi Brown team was in full force. Here’s Dennis from Shangri-La getting busy with a client:

Here’s Owell working his magic on Sugar:

Ms. Mona, the counter manager was uber busy! She was walking back and forth from the counter inside the mall to the event outside, in heels nonetheless!

This photo was taken after the event. I couldn’t get a hold of her during! Once I was able to coax her into having a photo taken with me but as the photographer was counting, Ms. Ina called her and poof! No more photo.

And how can I forget the Senior Makeup Artist of Bobbi Brown Philippines:

ms. bea et moi

Ms. Bea, who always does my makeup so flawlessly. I love her to bits!

An hour was set aside for bloggers. I was not invited as a blogger but as a regular client but I still tagged along during the blogger session. = )

Here are the bloggers with a Q&A session with Kai. But before that, the bloggers had their dark circles erased first, of course. Here’s Sugar:

Sugar is super tall that’s why I asked her to remain sitting so that I can have a photo with her. Well, we actually have a photo taken by the professionals at the photo booth. It’s in her blog. You’ll see the height difference. LOL.

After the session, each blogger had her photo taken with Kai:

Kai is so gracious and well-mannered unlike that other MUA who shall remain unnamed. Haha! He was able to answer all our questions. About 30 minutes before the event ended, I had a nice chat with him again. I asked a bunch of questions that I wasn’t able to ask during the bloggers’ session. I also went through his palettes. Oh, yeah. I did that, but with permission of course! I told him I was a MUA in training so he gave me some tips. I was at the Clinique counter when he left. I called out and said bye to him and he looked for me, walked towards me and kissed me goodbye.  He’s very nice indeed. I was starstruck when I first met him and felt that I found a longtime friend when he left. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing more of him in the future during workshops.

In this event, I learned not only the basics of the Concealer/Corrector but insider tips as well. I’m glad I went to this event in spite of my hectic schedule that week.

A special thanks goes out to my Bobbi Brown family:

You’ll be seeing more of Bobbi Brown products in this blog. Oh, and did I mention they’re sponsoring my giveaway? = )

My Favorite Makeup and Their Dupes

I have a newfound love for high end makeup but that doesn’t mean I’m foregoing my love for Etude House, Maybelline, ELF, and just recently I developed some lovin’ for Revlon, Wet N Wild, NYX and Fanny Serrano cosmetics. Some of the products in the said lines are comparable to high end ones. I’ll give you 3 of my favorite dupes.

First, the bestselling NARS Orgasm with its dupe, ELF Glow:

Here are swatches:

Another favorite is NARS Super Orgasm:

nars super orgasm and etude house dear darling blushblush

The dupe is the Dear Darling Blush from Etude House. I’m not sure what the exact shade is but at the back it says CH004 C91020. I made a review of this blush here.

Swatches:

And lastly, MAC Chez Chez Lame and ELF Luminance:

mac chez chez lame and elf luminance, by bitsandtreats

I super love ELF Luminance! I guess you can see the evidence. They’re so similar. See here:

chez chez lame and elf luminance swatches, by bitsandtreats

I think Chez is a limited edition thing but Luminance is a staple so if you missed Chez, just grab a pot of Luminance. I also did a review of this here.

I have a ton of makeup and I’m sure there are still dupes somewhere there. I’ll post more when I discover them.

101!

Wow, 101! I didn't think that I would reach 100 followers in just a few days! And it even went over that! And the timing is fortunate as I was already thinking of shutting down this blog. I've been having different thoughts, different feelings about this blog for the past few weeks now and seeing my follower meter up each day was indeed a blessing. How can I shut this blog down now when I know that a lot of people are enjoying and learning from what I write? And I know these people follow my blog because they really read what's in it. These people discover my blog and find out that they can relate to the things I'm writing about. And that makes me happy.

I want to thank each and every one of you on my followers list. Without you, I wouldn't be here, still. So as a sign of gratitude, and as promised, we are having a giveaway!!! Stay tuned for the prizes and details!

Thank you everyone!

Southern Comfort

One of the best things I love bazaars is I get to meet new people and get to try out new products. You all know my dilemma with shoes. I was lucky to meet this lovely girl named Pauline at the SuperSale bazaar. She bought something from Hyphen and I asked her what she’s selling . She’s selling shoes! So I told her that I will drop by her booth:

southern comfort shoes, by bitsandtreats

Ooooooh, love! I’ve been wanting a pair of these shoes for ages but I just couldn’t find the time to sit down and try on shoes. Or perhaps I just didn’t want to be disappointed because I know that there won’t be anything in my size.

Their smallest size for ladies is 5 and it fits me! Well, actually it’s a bit too sakto  and you can actually see my big toe nail pushing the fabric. Or maybe I just need a pedicure. LOL. I think it’s the pedicure thing.

The shoes are very comfortable. I wore them yesterday at the bazaar and my feet didn’t hurt. I wore them again today to the mall and my feet feel fine when I got home. Also, If you look at the shoes closely, you will see that they are well made unlike other shoes that I bought online. My pair doesn’t have any glue or threads sticking out.

Here’s a closeup of the shoes:

I have the khaki and red striped ones. My sister and MB have the black one.

Here’s my pair of Southern Comfort:

This pair is actually blue and I soooooo want this!!! Because of my weird sized feet, Pauline offered to have shoes custom-made for me! Wheeee!!! I told her that I’m going to order the next collection which is due to come out this October. Pauline, please come out with eyelet and lace designs. Please?

Here I am with the good-looking owners Pauline and Miko with our Southern Comforts:

The girls’ shoes cost Php850 while the boys’ shoes cost Php950. See the other guy in the background? He’s also wearing Southern Comfort! Actually, almost everybody in the vicinity is wearing a pair! Pauline can be a very persuasive businesswoman.

If you want to enjoy some Southern Comfort, head on over to their Facebook page.

The Magalonas, Take 2!

It feels great when people appreciate my products. I love looking at their delighted faces while perusing my merchandise and it’s even better when they come back so I was really glad when I saw Ms. Pia Magalona again last Sunday with her daughters Saab and Clara.

Clara was already wearing the Harajuku Lovers necklace and ring her mom bought for her from Hyphen.

Very Thankful

Hey guys! As you know, I’m at the SuperSale Bazaar from today ‘til Sunday so this will be a quick post.

First of all, thank you to my new followers! I was surprised to see my follower meter up today. Thank you ladies, I will get back to your blogs as soon as possible. Remember, when I reach 100 followers, I will be doing a giveaway!

Next, I’d like to thank Kingking for visiting Hyphen today! I’m sorry I wasn’t able to attend to you as much as I wanted to because I was very busy doing the accounts.  But thank you for visiting my booth and calling my attention!

Third, I guess this photo says it all:

pia magalona and me

Thank you very much Ms. Pia Magalona for taking the time out to scrutinize  all my merchandise and for purchasing a lot! Thank you for being so nice and so sweet and thank you for saying yes to this photo, twice! I didn’t ask her to hold the Hyphen bag up. She just posed like this! So thank you Ms. Pia!

Above all, I thank the good Lord for good sales for this day. 2 more days to go! I’ll see you ladies! If you do drop by, please say hi to me, okay?
