In the midst of all the chaos that is the La Salle Bazaar, preparing for my Clinique Birthday Party and the Ateneo Bazaar, I was surprised that I was able to finish 4 books!
For One More Day is a very touching story. I had teary eyes when I was reading this that’s why people were giving me weird looks as I was reading this at the walkway in La Salle while waiting for our ride. This book makes you appreciate life and the people in your lives (that matter) more. It reminds you to always tell the people you love, that you love them.
The Bhagavad-Gita, of course, is a classic book. There are a lot of things that are kinda hard to apply to our everyday modern lives but this book made me step back and examine my life differently. Sure, I’m not Buddha but learning to control oneself (especially in shopping, haha!) is a gift.
I’ve learned a lot in the Style Strategy. It made me look at my closet and shopping habits differently. I’ve learned a few tricks on how to shop wisely.
The Twenties Girl is a typical Sophie Kinsella novel – heroine, with a loving family, boyfriend, ex-boyfriend, etc. then gets herself into trouble then has a happy ending. Honestly, I am getting tired of the same plot. After reading a lot of her books, you already know what’s going to happen next. So I’m taking a break from Sophie and explore my other options. I bought 5 more books over the weekend and I can’t wait to read all of them!
How’s your book reading going?
I agree with you on the Sophie Kinsella plot thing. But I still have fun reading her books :D
ReplyDeleteI wanna read For One More Day... sounds like a good book! :D
I'm reading old school garfield comics XD
ReplyDelete@Aya: Read it but prepare to cry! haha!
ReplyDelete@Kitten: Old School comics are the best!

ReplyDeletegoodmorning hun
I'm on my way to start my Nicholas Sparks journey...but i guess I'll be getting a copy of For One More Day soon
ReplyDeleteConfession:
ReplyDeleteI cried when I reached the end of Twenties Girl when she put the necklace on. LOL
But I don't really remember crying when I read for one more day.
LOL
@Ahne: Nakaka adik magbasa no? I also bought my first Nicholas Sparks book, The Wedding, during the crazy Fully Booked sale. Ang dami kasi nyang books so marami-rami tayong bubunuin.
ReplyDelete@Michelle: I guess it really depends on the experiences you've gone through. As I get older, I am able to relate more to a lot of the things that I read. I think Twenties Girl is more appealing to younger women whereas For One More Day is geared towards older men and women who are at the crossroads of their lives.
i haven't seen Mills & Boon and Sweet Valley High. don't you have any of them?
ReplyDelete@John: I used to read the whole Sweet Valley series from Kids, Twins, High then the college and special edition Sweet Valleys.
