Marionnaud N32

How was your long weekend ladies? I know I've been out for 3 days but that's because I made a promise to myself that I will rest and no distractions whatsoever can ruin that schedule. I was able to rest because I had an attack and got my period! So much for enjoying the long weekend. But I'm still thankful that I was able to take afternoon naps which I love and which are a must if you have an autoimmune disease like mine.  So anyway, I got another brush to add to my humble collection and it's the Marionnaud N32 angled brush. I like the case because it's reusable and it's big enough to put other stuff in it when travelling. I can put my other brushes or lippies in it and I know they will be safe. What I don't like is that plastic that's supposed to protect the brush itself. The darn thing stuck to the brush like glue! I had to rip it off because it wouldn't really budge. So that's sayang. I threw it away after because it was already useless....

Cat Attack at MAC!

I don't own a single MAC makeup because I find them too expensive. I'm still on the experimenting stage with makeup and I'm quite comfortable playing around with cheaper makeup but at the back of my head, I've been planning (and wanting) to purchase something from MAC. This, I think,  may be a sign: If you're a long-time reader of this blog, you'd know how much I love cats!!! MAC + Felines = LOVE in my book! I have to get these when they come out here in the PH! I'll just ignore the price this once and who knows, this may be the start of a wonderful love affair with MAC. Photos from Karen . I'll give you the run down next.

Grape Bella-ela, ela...

You girls already know that I hoarded these two products above (Grape Bella Exfoliating Body Polish and Grape Bella Moisturising Shower Cream) when they were on sale at 20% off. I didn't make a review back then because I wanted to use these products a little longer before giving a review.  Now that I've almost finished a bottle and a tube, I'd like to share with you my experience. First, the packaging: very nice and sexy. The first time I saw this at Watsons Greenbelt, I wanted to buy it but my sensitive skin made me think twice. What made me try this? Curiosity and I couldn't resist anymore. I just wish they made this a flip-top instead of a screw on type. I guess they were aiming for the wine look. The scent: Like grape juice and wine that is very pleasing to my nose. I just recently found out that if I don't slather on lotion, the scent is transferred to my clothes when I sweat. Is that crazy or what? My top smells like  the shower cream on my stomach area (w...

Another Garnier Review

I love Garnier, isn't it obvious? = ) I think I've tried most of their products already! Here's another one that I've tried: Garnier Lightening Peel-Off Mask Peel off masks appeal to me more than sheet masks. Maybe because as a kid, I had fun peeling my Mom's peel off masks. = ) So that's 1 point for this product. I also like the scent, not too strong. I like the fact that it didn't make my face itch nor gave it rashes. There's also a substantial amount of product in one sachet so you can have very good coverage. My problem is, it takes too long to dry even with the fans almost near my face. But it did 'illuminate' my face after peeling. Oh, and peeling it off was the fun part! MB and I had fun peeling the mask off my face.  The brightening effect doesn't last long, unfortunately. After a few hours I noticed my skin getting dark. I think I really have this problem with lemon based products. They make my skin dark. Do you think it'...

Celeteque Skin Club

So I did my usual 'Beauty Shopping' last weekend at SM. I'm running out of my Celeteque facial wash so I got one. There was a sticker on the box advertising the Celeteque Skin Club. It also says to ask their consultants about it. So I returned the box and decided to go directly to Celeteque's stand where the consultant is. When I got there, the consultant was busy chatting with the cashier and her checker. It seems they've had a bit of a problem with a customer. The conversation was getting long and didn't show signs of ending so I had to say excuse me to talk to the consultant. I don't have all day for Celeteque whereas they have the whole day until closing to chat about the incident. The consultant wasn't what I expected. She was not very articulate. She kept saying ' ano ' (translation: what. much like how foreigners say uhm mid-sentence when thinking. Filipinos say ano when they can't find the right words.) The Pond's ladies are bet...

Saturday Afternoon Project

I love Saturdays. I get to sleep in, get to pamper myself, I can have movie marathons, go to the mall, chill out or do useful/creative things. What do you when your lipstick has reached the edge of the container? Do you chuck it or do use a lipstick brush to get the remaining product? You all know how I hate waste and I have 3 lippies that are on the edge or nearing the edge of the container. Plus, I also have these: So, I decided to make this: Open Close At first, I only wanted to depot(?) the 3 lipsticks. While doing this, I thought about how convenient this is going to be on hectic mornings when I'm always in a hurry to go to work. I wouldn't need to check my lipsticks one by one. Sure the sticker at the bottom helps but I still think the shade is different. Besides, the shade will really change depending on your skin tone. But I still wanted to see all my lipstick shades in one container and I still also wanted a tube to put in my makeup kit. After all, a lipstick tu...

Myra Vita Glow Tinted Facial Moisturizer

This product has its merits - for other people perhaps. Unfortunately, Myra Vita Glow didn't work out for me.  There are two shades - Ivory and Beige (if I'm not mistaken). I chose Ivory for the obvious reason that it's lighter and therefore friendly to my acidic skin. It turns out, it's too light for my skin tone. But, after a few minutes, it blended well into my original color. (Whoa, is my skin that acidic?)  I use this as a makeup base. I still use my Garnier moisturizer prior to application. Myra is quite hard to apply on my face though. I use a sponge and it takes a lot of light rubbing and massaging for it to be absorbed by my skin. Also, the moisturizer has a bit of sparkle/glitter in it. I think that's where the 'VITA GLOW' comes from. I don't like the fact that it makes me look like a wannabe Cullen. Yeah, the glitters are big enough for you to see on a regular mirror.  My makeup also doesn't stay on for long. It glides off. I have to re...

Attention Ladies!

I know there are a lot of you out there who are lurkers in this blog. I need someone to "adopt" some of my beauty stuff and I'd appreciate it if you'll comment on this. These things are 95% to 99% full. My main reason for giving them out is because I'm allergic to them or I simply have no use for them. I don't want to throw them out. You know me, I hate waste. If I get at least 5 comments about this, I will show the things that are up for 'adoption'. Any comment will do. Tell me if you want to adopt them or a simple 'yes' or 'show me' will do. This is open for Philippine readers only. I hope to hear from you ladies very soon! P.S. The products range from hair care, skin care and body care.

Garnier is Hit and Miss

Most of the products I bought from Garnier suit my skin well. I don't have any complaints. I guess it's pretty obvious with the amount of Garnier products I've reviewed here. But now, we have a miss. Introducing Garnier Light Complete Multi-Action Whitening Cream I prefer to apply whitening moisturizers in the morning to keep my acidic skin in check. I've used this other Garnier product for quite some time now with above average results. This other product, however, was a disappointment.  First of all, it's too thick. Well, that may be a given because it's cream based. But I checked the other product and the packaging also says cream but it's lighter and thinner. It would have been okay had it had the texture of body butter but it didn't. It was reminiscent of Pond's old whitening creams. Because it's thick, you can expect it to be heavy on your face. Add to the fact that it's sweltering summer here so that can get pretty uncomfortable a...
