Hi everyone! This is just a quick note. I will be out of the country for a few days. Mom did some last minute shopping today for our trip. We both had business to do in the morning so we just met up for lunch. We had lunch at Seafood Island then started our shopping. Our family has been through a lot in the past 8 years and so I was very happy that mom was able to treat herself today. First stop was Promod where we bought cardis: Then we went to All Flip Flops to buy her first pair of Havaianas: We wanted the blue one (this is actually purple) but they ran out of sizes so we settled for this. I really hate the Havaianas here as they always run out of sizes. MB and I always have a hard time buying because most of the time they don’t have our sizes. We also went to M&S to get some underwear and a thermal top for me. We got this freebie bag: It’s actually a nice tote bag as the material is quite sturdy and the bag is big, perfect for shopping unlike the bags from other establishments that are too tiny. I was fortunate to be one of the very first to purchase the Clinique Chubby Stick at Rustan’s Makati. It’s just sad that we only have 4 out of the 8 shades. I’ve been waiting for this to arrive on our shores for quite some time now so I didn’t think twice when the Clinique ladies told me that it just arrived that same day when I visited their counter. This shade is Woppin’Watermelon. It’s a nice bright pink shade. When I say bright, I don’t mean like neon or barbie pink. I mean happy pink, if there is such a term. I associate this shade of pink with being happy, so sue me. = ) It looks like this on me:   So what’s the verdict? I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now and it has been my go-to lippie especially on days when I’m too busy to be creative. It goes well with almost all my eye looks. It’s especially nice with neutrals. My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

In the midst of all the chaos that is the La Salle Bazaar, preparing for my Clinique Birthday Party and the Ateneo Bazaar, I was surprised that I was able to finish 4 books! For One More Day is a very touching story. I had teary eyes when I was reading this that’s why people were giving me weird looks as I was reading this at the walkway in La Salle while waiting for our ride. This book makes you appreciate life and the people in your lives (that matter) more. It reminds you to always tell the people you love, that you love them. The Bhagavad-Gita, of course, is a classic book. There are a lot of things that are kinda hard to apply to our everyday modern lives but this book made me step back and examine my life differently. Sure, I’m not Buddha but learning to control oneself (especially in shopping, haha!) is a gift. I’ve learned a lot in the Style Strategy. It made me look at my closet and shopping habits differently. One of the best things of being at home is playing with my makeup. I had some errands to run today but decided to just stay home and rest. I was getting bored so I decided to get my Nichido Stardust Palette in Blue Lagoon and make an EOTD that’s great for parties and nights out. I still have to brave up to wearing this kind of makeup. Well, maybe when the occasion calls for it. Please forgive the crooked line on the other eye. I was too lazy to fix it. I used the bright blue all over my lid then on my crease, I used the purple shadow. To soften the look, I applied the lavender shade on top of the purple. I used the Maybelline Gel liner and Maybelline Falsies as mascara. The colors are much more intense in reality. The lighting in the room is weird as it was almost dusk when I took photos.   So, how do you like this look? Is it party-ready? Would you wear this look?

If you’re a long-time follower of this blog, you’d know that I did my cousin C’s prom makeup last year. It wasn’t any different this year. Last year, I decided on a whimsical fairy theme that’s why she had blue, green pink and purple in her eyes. This year, now that she’s a bit older, I concentrated on the pinks and browns that will complement her dress. I did more mature makeup on her but still keeping with the sweet pinks associated with teenagers. I used the Naked Palette for this look. 1. Pat SIN all over the lid. 2. On the crease, I applied HUSTLE 3.On the outer v, I applied TOASTED 4. Next, I put SIDECAR on the center of each lid. Just light feathery strokes from the bottom, to the right and up will do. 5. For the highlight, I used VIRGIN 6. Finally, I lightly patted HALF BAKED all over her lids (not including crease) for the golden shimmery effect. This last step was perfect.
