Green and pink is one of my favorite color combinations especially when it comes to eyeshadows. I had a makeup gig last Sunday and needed to practice and figure out a look prior to the event. As usual, my victim, I mean, model was my cousin C. It was too bright when I took the shots so the colors are washed out. Here’s a closeup: I used my Too Faced Pixie Pin-Ups Palette . In the end, I decided to use a pink and yellow look for the client which turned out quite nicely. I’ll show you a similar look that I did on C  on another post. We also had fun doing her hair:

I’ve been using the Bobbi Brown Corrector for some time now. I didn’t know that something like a corrector existed until I read the Bobbi Brown Manual. I only knew about concealers and that was it. As the name suggests, it corrects discoloration on your eye area. It makes your skin even toned. A concealer on the other hand, lifts and brightens. My shade is Peach. Most Filipinas can use this shade. If you’re on the lighter side, Bisque is for you. Now, why the title? Spot the Difference was my favorite newspaper game when I was a kid. I would always look forward to Sunday mornings when my grandpa would buy the paper and we would do these games together. One of those games was Spot the Difference. There’s this huge candy store in Singapore that’s called Candylicious. I was wearing this when we went there: The base color is Express Yourself to Yourself from the Glee OPI collection. The green on top is Mash Up from the same collection. These nails remind me of that store. If you’re wondering where to get this collection locally, check out Hyphen . Because I’m studying makeup, one of my mentors said that I should also start studying hair styles so I’ve been playing around with different hairstyles lately. Mostly braids though.  I’m not yet sure if I really want to learn to do intricate hairstyles. Here’s hairstyle number 1:   You’d have to forgive me if you like smooth, even braids as I dislike fussing with my hair. This is one of the reasons why I had them curled. These are messy, uneven side braids that meet in the center and topped with one of my ribbons. I am constantly inspired by Japanese fashion and I thought this hairstyle would be appropriate for my look that day. I have been  looking for nice barrettes and clips in the department stores to no avail. I’d like to use them for more hairstyles in the coming days. So I guess I’ll be posting more of these.

The other event that I attended before I left for abroad was Clinique’s Open House where everybody and anybody can try out their makeup to their hearts’ content, ask questions, get makeovers and get skin consultations from the three lovely beauty experts – Ms. Malou, Ms. Dindin and Ms. Baby. The event was held on a Friday and I was due to fly on the first flight out the next morning and I haven’t even finished packing yet but Clinique is a brand that is so dear to my heart, so how can I say no? So I went there, fingers crossed that I’ll still be able to have the strength to finish everything I have to do afterwards. I took my cousin C at this event. She’s 16 and she will be starting her college life in June so I asked Ms. Dindin to teach her a few tricks. Aside from skincare, Dindin taught her how to apply makeup on herself. A Ponchinello is a cat that looks like a body builder: Exhibit A Actually, all you can see here is his dirty nose. This is my only cat that has huge muscles. His nape and shoulders are pure muscle. His forelegs are bigger too compared to his siblings. Well, he is a Manx so that explains the legs but the rest of his body, I don’t know how he got that. His mom is ChaCha, by the way (also a Manx). Exhibit B I couldn’t take a decent photo of him because he was too fidgety. He’s dirty because he just got back from making his usual rounds in the neighborhood (inside the confines of our gate). I say 360 because they’ve got every corner, every angle and every side covered. They’ve got big stars like Jessica Biel, Halle Berry and Jessica Alba for endorsers. They’re on glossies, posters,billboards and did you know that they also had a building projection? If I’m not mistaken, they are the very first cosmetics brand in the Philippines to do that. They did that in MOA where Jessica Alba and Halle Berry would greet you before you enter the mall. Now they’re really giving the competition a hard time to follow their act with this: This is what I was telling you in my previous post. They utilized this technology before but now (as I’ve said in Part 1), you can use your own face instead of the model on the screen so you’d know exactly how your chosen shades would look on you.
