Shopping!

Like what I said in my previous post, I went out with my best friend/sister M last Thursday. We attended the LYB Members Only Party at Greenbelt. As promised, here’s a photo of what I got for myself. This is the Cranberry limited edition set. It includes a soap, a shower gel, a body butter and a lip balm. It smells wonderful. When I opened the box to take a photo, the smell hit me and it felt like Christmas. I got M a foundation but I was not able to take a photo of that. Earlier in the day, I was with my mom at the mall. When we were at the ladies’ room, I noticed that my shoe broke so I went to my favorite shoe store to buy a replacement. Well, you know me. I got 3. The one that broke was a pair of flat sandals so I had to replace it with flats. I wore the black one immediately. I’m not used to wearing thong sandals but they turned out to be comfortable the longer I wore them. The one on the right is so comfy. It feels like butter. The one on the left is a size large...

LYB Members Only Party

I got an e-invite to The Body Shop’s Members Only Party a few weeks ago. It said that I can take a friend with me so I naturally thought about bringing my best friend M and her baby girl. I consider them my family. I will do anything for them. It’s great that we get to spend so much time together this year. M takes care of her little one while I do most of my work at home so we both have our own time. We can go out whenever we want to. The party was scheduled at 2 pm. I passed by the boutique at Greenbelt at 10 minutes before 2 and nothing was happening so I proceeded to GB1 to meet M and her baby. We went to the boutique at 2:30 PM. Well, first of all, there was no party atmosphere. The girl who was supposed to greet us was talking to another person. I asked the ladies (who I assumed were supervisors or store managers or people from marketing because they weren’t in uniform) about the party. She asked for my name and made us sign the attendance sheet. We were given welcome gift...

Watsons Soothing Foot Scrub

I used to ignore Watsons brand products because I thought for that price, it can’t be good. I also thought that in-house brands just aren’t worth my time. Snooty, I know but Watsons definitely proved me wrong. In my house, you will be able to see a lot of Watsons brands products. Here is a product that I discovered a month ago: This is a lavender scented foot scrub. I love the texture, consistency and smell of this foot scrub. It works really great on my feet too. It’s better than my last Watsons foot scrub. I feel this is more effective as I no longer see dry, cracked skin on my heels. I use this product twice a week. This tube costs Php79 if I remember correctly. I also like the packaging better than the foot shaped foot scrub because I am able to use up all the product. The foot scrub just won’t dispense the leftovers. I hate wasting product. I get irritated when I can’t scoop out every single drop of product from a bottle or tube. This is an empty tube because I jus...

Palgantong Powder

This is another one of those products that I snatched from Hyphen . A lot of my customers swear by it. It’s great when someone comes up to me and identifies this product. I had the privilege of using it in one of my wedding gigs. This product is good for oily skin. It will make your makeup last longer. But, and that is a big but, (no pun intended) for super oily skinned ladies, you need to layer it a bit more. My clients had very oily skin and I needed to retouch the bride after the wedding before the reception. I actually wanted to retouch the makeup while the wedding was going on. At that time I felt that this product failed me.  This product is designed for theater use so I had high hopes for it. But then again, actors get their makeup retouched every time they go backstage. They also have people to do this for them. If you want to use this product, have an open mind. Personally, it works for me. I don’t have very oily skin. I have combination dry-oily skin and I find...

Amazonian Wild Lily

I have a good collection of perfumes and it is running low. I tend to buy several bottles at the start or end of the year or whenever they are on sale. I make sure that they last me a year or two then I buy again. Perfumes are one of those beauty products that I don’t regularly buy so I stock up on them. I invest once and that’s it until the supplies last. I also don’t buy retail. I wait for sales and I never buy cheap knock offs such as those labeled “Original from Singapore, Buy 1 Take 1”.  I always go to my trusted Rustan’s sales attendants. Authentic perfumes last longer plus you also get GWP’s from the brands. Anyway, my stock is running low and as I am getting addicted to The Body Shop, I purchased this bottle of Amazonian Wild Lily Fragrance Mist. It is not a perfume so the scent does not last very long. I don’t like bringing perfumes in my purse (well, except for that tiny bottle of Elizabeth Arden Pretty for days when I forget to spritz some before I leave the hous...

Watsons Haul

I thought my stockpile would last me until the end of the year but it’s only November and we are using the last bottle of body wash. Our stock would have lasted but I forgot to take into account my sister. She uses our body wash when hers run out. So I went to Watsons with mom to get some more stocks. Aside from the BOGO offer, I used my coupon to get further savings. I just bought a bunch of necessities – shower gels, wet wipes, Charmee feminine wipes, hand sanitizers, toothbrushes and foot scrub. I couldn’t resist the new Hello Kitty products so I got the lip balms and the hand lotion. If you look closely, the hand lotion includes a Hello Kitty charm that can be removed and used for your phone or purse. The best part is they are all just 99 pesos each! In this transaction, I saved Php418! I love shopping at Watsons because I not only satisfy my need to shop, I also save money in the process. I’ll post a separate review of the Hello Kitty items so watch out for that.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge

This is one of those products that has been in my vanity for so long that I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about yet. The shade is Pale Pink. It’s a great lip and cheek color. It’s a good every day shade that is also office-friendly. I use it more on the lips than on the cheeks but it works nicely on my cheeks too. The price is a bit expensive but you have to remember that this is a product that does double duty so it’s worth it. Also, one pot will last you a long time. In my opinion, it is better to invest in this product than buy several cheap ones that don’t last. You get good quality and good quantity.
