The Body Shop Satsuma Beautifying Oil

I bought this in December of last year. It’s only recently that I was able to use it though. My doctor noticed my very dry skin and advised me to use Dove Unscented Soap but I couldn’t find that so I settled with the original Dove Beauty Bar. She also told me to use TBS Olive Oil. I still have this Satsuma Oil so I decided to use it first. I can’t believe I didn’t use this right away! I was planning to use this on my hair when my Etude House hair oil runs out. Now, I use this this Satsuma oil on my hair and skin. It smells wonderful! I love citrus smells and this is made with clementines. The light citrus smell lingers on my skin. This is easily absorbed by my skin. The best time to apply this is after you take a bath or at night before you sleep to get the ultimate moisturizing effect. My skin is slowly improving because of the combination of products my doctor recommended. Oh, you can also use this oil on your face! The Satsuma Oil costs Php795 and I will definitely bu...

How I Wear Green Eye Shadow

Green is my favorite color and a shade of it happens to be the color of the year (emerald). When I want to wear green on my eyes, I usually reach out for my I Dream of Greenie palette from Wet n Wild. Here’s my typical green eye look. Here’s what I used: UDPP Eden for the base. Boi-Ing 1 & 2 as concealers. I Dream of Greenie and Flash of Forest palettes. I only used the cream colored shadow as base. I then applied this shade from my Isla Serena palette on top of the cream shadow base. Then I used the lightest green in the Wet n Wild palette from the outer corner of my eye to the center of my lid. I then applied the lime shade on half of that. Finally, I used the darkest green for the corners. For the highlight, I used White Frost from my DIY MAC palette. I used my The Body Shop Big and Curvy Waterproof mascara for my lashes and my Kiss Me Liquid Liner to line my eyes. Oh, I also used NYX Milk for the inner corners of my eyes. ...

My Thoughts on the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

The Naked 2 palette was launched last year. A lot of beauty bloggers were excited about it. I wasn’t. One Naked is enough for me. This was not a very popular item in Hyphen also and so I got one palette. The shades are very close to the original Naked. The quality of the eye shadows is excellent though as expected from Urban Decay. I love some of the colors like Foxy, Tease and Pistol. I also love the hard case. I like this better than the dirt magnet that is the original Naked. What I really love about this palette is the brush. I don’t like the fact that it’s dual ended as it’s hard to store. I would like to include this brush in my brush holder but that will just ruin the other end. It’s a really nice blending brush. I also sometimes use it to apply color and it does not disappoint. Overall, I can’t say that this is better than the original Naked. They both have neutrals and smokey shadows. The main differences are the casing and the brushes. I got the old Na...

Mini Haul

It’s been a while since I went shopping. Well, it’s been a while since I got out of the house. I’m still on house arrest but I managed to do a bit of shopping after I went to the doctor. These are just essentials: My doctor noticed my uber dry skin so she told me to use Dove beauty bar. I actually don’t like this because it does not bubble up. I like my soaps to lather up nicely but I need it and the doctor prescribed it so yeah, I’m using it. My makeup sponges from Beauty Bar are still out of stock so I made a quick stop to Japan Home Center and bought a bag of sponges. There are different sponges in the bag and I can say that I’m impressed with the quality. At first I was hesitant to buy this as I only needed the wedge sponge to apply my foundation. I just said to myself that I’ll just make it work. Turns out, I can use a lot of these sponges: This round sponge fits my Paul & Joe compact perfectly. This sponge is too big for my Clinique com...

Aqua Vera Purple Petals

This is the last variant of the Aqua Vera Body Washes that I bought. It’s also my favorite. I think it smells the best. It actually smells a bit like perfume. Like the other two, the scent does not last long on this one. The consistency is better though. Next time I will probably buy all Purple Petals when they go on sale again.

Sweet Serendipity

This was a part of my Christmas haul at Bench: I would say that this body lotion is perfect for school girls or anyone who is on a budget. One tube only costs Php75. I like the fact that it’s sealed: It’s a very thick lotion. It takes some time for my skin to absorb it. I wouldn’t recommend this during summer though as my skin gets sticky when I sweat. It’s heavy and I can really feel that I have lotion on. It’s good for dry skin. I have very dry skin and I’ve seen a bit of improvement. If I didn’t use this as a body lotion, I would put this in my purse and use it as a hand lotion. Well, now that it’s hot I think I might do just that with what’s left in the tube. I think being in a cooler environment will make me comfortable with this lotion. I won’t re-purchase as I will wait for December again before I haul toiletries from Bench.

Too Faced Natural Eye EOTD’s Part III

Here’s the last EOTD for the Too Faced Natural Eye palette: I used Nude Beach, Honey Pot and Cocoa Puff for this EOTD. It looks similar to the last EOTD. I have no idea why the pinks turned out to be browns in the photos. I made this look one morning that is why my brows and lashes are not made up. I also didn’t bother applying concealer and foundation to the area around my eye as I was (and still am) on bed/house arrest. I used my ELF primer for this look which did a great job of making the colors pop and holding them together. These shades are so shimmery so they are definitely for a night look. I consider myself a bit adventurous when it comes to make up but I wouldn’t wear this combination during the day. Maybe one shadow combined with other matte shadows is cool. The shadows are chalky and it hurts when they enter my eye so tapping the brush before application is a must. You also need a fan brush to sweep away all those fallouts when you’re done. I like ...
