When the Muse Returns Wrapped in Lace

It started with this I wasn’t planning on falling in love again that Tuesday afternoon. All I wanted was to check one thing off my to-do list: make a prototype for a custom client order. Something I hadn’t done before—something outside my usual rhythm. It was supposed to be quick. Functional. Done and dusted in an hour. But the moment my hands touched the lace paper, something stirred.

The Art (and Joys) of Perfecting Your Craft

T hey look simple. Just pouches. But behind each one is a series of experiments, a stubborn refusal to settle, and a quiet joy that only fellow crafters know.

Soft Luxe at the Bookstore: A Quiet Reset for the Soul

S ometimes, luxury isn’t loud. It’s not the gleam of a diamond or the flash of a designer tag. It’s the hush of a bookstore at twilight, where the world slows down and no one expects you to speak.

It’s Not Just a Shoe: The Power of a Perfect Fit for Petite Queens

T here’s something about the hush of Charles & Keith stores—the soft glow, the subtle scent of new leather and ambition, the way heels are displayed like jewelry, not footwear. Every time I step into one, I feel like the moment is already waiting for me. Like the lights dim slightly, as if to say, Welcome back, Lady E. After over a month of not visiting my favorite shoe and bag store, I was finally able to drop by a couple of weeks ago to bring gifts for my C&K family. They're not sponsoring this post, by the way.  I said I won't buy, just look but..well.. you know how that goes. 😏 As a petite woman, the world often forgets us. Clothes bunch, sleeves swallow our wrists, and shoes? Shoes are the worst offenders. Too long, too wide, always slipping off with every step like they were never meant to belong. And yet, we endure it. Why? Because we’ve been taught to adjust ourselves to what’s available—rather than demand something that actually fits. T...

Begin Again: I’m Not Starting Over. I’m Starting Wiser.

T here was a time I feared the words ‘start over.’ I thought they meant I failed. That I had to erase everything and go back to zero. I don’t feel that way anymore. A Brief Rewind: What 'Starting Over' Used to Mean Back in school, when the teacher said, "start over", that meant your paper has mistakes. At work, when the boss said, "start over", that mean your output was not good enough.  So, it's no wonder when some of us are triggered when we hear "start over." It is kinda traumatizing if you've endured several 'start overs' in your life.  Starting over meant shame, pressure, and toxic hustle. You're embarrassed for not doing a good job or failing. You feel the pressure to be better, to rise higher. And then you hustle, hustle, hustle to catch up.  What 'Starting Over' Now Means Blogging  Back in May, I went to this blog to look up something. And then I thought I'd check the stats. To my surprise, Glow Girls were ...

Are Hand Creams Just Fancy Lotions? What You Might Not Know About Those Pretty Tins

Ever picked up a cute little hand cream set—like this Barbie one—and wondered, is this just glorified lotion in a tin? Not quite. Once upon a time, I wondered what the difference is between body lotion and hand lotion, if there is even any. Am I just wasting money on hand creams?   While both lotion and hand cream moisturize your skin, hand creams are typically thicker and richer, meant to stay longer on your skin and shield it from dryness. That’s why they come in smaller tins—they’re concentrated little warriors for your hands, especially useful if you wash often (ahem), sanitize too much, or spend your days in air-conditioned spaces (another ahem). They’re also usually packed with ingredients like shea butter or vitamin E to heal cracked knuckles, rough cuticles, and dry spots. But here’s the catch: not all hand creams are created equal. If your hands are super dry (like mine), some of these “pretty” creams won’t cut it. They’re more about the scent and vibe than hea...
