Mineral Therapy

I’m browsing through my archives, getting all my backlog photos. This one is from October. It has been about more than a month since I finished this product: When I first saw this Mineral Therapy Moisturizing Body Wash by St. Ives, I was intrigued. It looked promising knowing the quality that  St. Ives brings. So, I was really disappointed that it didn’t work for me. First, the smell. It’s not too bad but I don’t like it either. Second, the feel is different from the other body wash variants from St. Ives. Third, it didn’t moisturize my skin. It actually made it itchy. I didn’t stop using it because I didn’t want to just chuck the whole bottle. I told myself that maybe it will work. Well, the itchiness did not disappear. I still get some rashes after I take a bath. The moisturizing effect helped a little but nothing compared to the other St. Ives body washes that I’ve tried in the past. I got this for a little over Php200. Right now I’m using Dove Go Fresh  Revive Body W...

Let’s Talk Whitening

I’m not a huge fan of whitening products but I use them occasionally especially if a product has good reviews. One such product is the Belo Whitening Soap. There are two variants. I chose the blue one because it says nourishing on the label. I have dry skin and I need moisture and nourishment. This soap is effective. After about a couple of weeks of usage (once, every night), I noticed that my thighs were whiter. I don’t know why it’s my thighs that I’ve noticed but they did whiten. Kitten also said that I look whiter in one of my photos. I’m not using any whitening lotions so I guess the soap really is effective. But it didn’t cure my dryness so the moisture is not enough. I experienced some itching on my first and second use but my skin got used to it quite fast so it dissipated. The soap is very effective that when I told my sister about it, she bought a ton! There is a steady supply of Belo soap in our bathroom. I stopped using the soap after I used up the bar and my color is...

Beauty Report: Clinique Mini Makeover Workshop

So, today was a blast! The girls in our family had a lunch date then we went for mani-pedis at Nail Tropics. As always, my choice nail artisans did a wonderful job. My cousin C had a bad experience though. Her nail artisan cut off a piece of her skin on her right ring finger. The nail artisan said that the nipper was too sharp. Duh?? That it was newly sharpened. So why wasn’t she more careful? What the…. My cousin’s finger kept bleeding. She was already a bit dizzy because of the blood. Yes, the wound was that big! We both hate the sight of blood.  Anyway, they made up for it by giving her a GC but still. After that, we headed for some drinks at Starbucks to kill some time before the main event of the day – Clinique’s Mini Makeover Workshop! This report will be divided into 5 posts as it’s going to be very long. I will discuss different age groups and different looks  in each post. For this report, we will start with yours truly. I’m turning 29 in a month. My skin type is 2...

Purederm Hydro Soothing Aloe Pack

I was finally able to try this out last Saturday night. It was good timing as I was feeling hot and sticky and my face badly needed something to cool it off. As my toiletry basket is high, I just reached up and took the first mask that I got my hands on and I was fortunate enough to get this. It goes on clear: One pack is enough to cover your whole face and neck. I didn’t put any on my  neck, just until my jaws. I was surprised that it had a cooling fun. I enjoyed that very much. I was doing my sister’s nails while waiting for the 10 minutes to elapse. It was a very soothing 10 minutes indeed. Now comes the hard part. I already fell in love with this mask the moment I slathered it on but when I rinsed it off, my face suddenly started to itch! First it was just on the side of my nose then my cheek then the other cheek. I thought that my face was just dry because it was cold so I put some moisturizer. I always apply moisturizer at night to lessen the dryness on my face because...

Fashion 21 E/S Trio EOTD–Finally!

This is one of my best eyeshadow palettes and I think it’s my first ever  eyeshadow set. I was not able to make an EOTD look before as the colors get washed out. I tried last week and here’s the result: Like what I said in my review, this is the eyeshadow combo that I get the most compliments with. What do you think? Nifty Find–NARS Sharpener

Sorry for this post. It may seem too obvious for makeup enthusiasts but when I bought the NARS Love Thrill set, I was stumped on how to sharpen the matte lip pencil so after a few days, I went back to the NARS counter and asked if they had a special sharpener for that. Here it is: I just need to pull out that ring on the right and my matte lip pencil will fit! I haven’t tried this yet though. I get all giddy when I find cute little (useful) things from my favorite makeup brands. What are your favorite cute finds from your favorite makeup brands?
