The Quiet Confidence of a Woman Who Budgets with Purpose

It’s January. And I’m not rushing this time. I promised myself I'd do things differently this year. That I'll get my ducks in a row. I know I've been saying that forever, but I've been quietly building systems since last year and I know things will be different this time.

There was a season in my life when I used to buy groceries once a month. The full cart kind. The “I know exactly where this item will go in the pantry” kind. Most of you regulars know that. I wrote about it. I even created systems around it. It was cheaper. That mindset worked—for a different version of me.

But then came the last few months of the year.

Oh, love.

You ever feel like life dragged you by the collar from October to December? That was me. We traveled more than usual. We were still traveling on the first week of December. But make no mistake. They were not all for pleasure. They were more for business, for this blog. For you, my dear readers from all over the world.

After the whirlwind of travels, I was able to rest and reset for 10 days. But then...

The orders started pouring in when we came back. I was making, printing, packing, sealing, tagging, uploading, listing, rechecking, answering DMs, tracking riders.  I had deadlines, I had forms to submit, numbers to crunch, plans to make, receipts to file, ledgers to update—but not the Pantry kind. Not the soft ones. Just the necessary ones.

By the time December hit, I was done.

I was sublimating mugs on Christmas Day and binding weekly planners on New Year's.

I was still standing, but I was holding it all together with the last bit of  washi tape and grace I had left.

And during those months, vegetables went bad.

I’d open the fridge, see a bunch of beans I swore I’d use, and whisper “sorry” before tossing it. The cucumbers I prepped and was excited to make into oi muchim. The potatoes from Baguio. All spoiled. Not because I didn’t care. But because I simply didn’t have the space... the energy, the time.

So this year, I’m not going back to the old way. I’m choosing a better one.

I got out my Pantry Ledgers.

Soft pastels. Curated by season. My handwriting ready to return home to the lines.

I’m buying for this week only. I check what I already have. I mark what’s about to expire. I see what meals I can make with what’s left. I don’t stock out of habit anymore. I stock with vision. With rhythm. With calm.

Because I’m no longer trying to win at the supermarket.

I’m trying to win at life.

This isn’t budgeting because I have to.

This is budgeting because I choose to. Because I want my home to breathe. I want my kitchen to work for me—not the other way around. I want my fridge to greet me with possibilities, not guilt.

So I fill out the pages again. Not as the woman who lost her footing in the chaos, but as the one who learned how to step softer.

This is the quiet confidence of a woman who knows her season.

Who doesn’t chase sales, but seeks alignment.

Who budgets not out of lack, but out of love.

And if that’s you too, then Glow Girl… welcome back to the rhythm.

We’re doing it different this time.

If you’re ready to step into this new season with intention and rhythm, I’ve created something that might just become your new favorite ritual.

The Pantry Ledger is part of my Fruit Basket Collection—a soft luxe system to help you plan, prep, and purchase with clarity and care. It comes in five delicious themes: Peach, Grape, Pear, Strawberry, and Blueberry. Each one is designed to bring beauty and function into your kitchen flow, whether you’re listing grocery needs, checking perishables, or tracking leftovers before they go to waste.

✨ You can grab the digital version on Gumroad, perfect for printing at home.  (link below)

📦 If you're in the Philippines, it's also available on Shopee for local buyers. (link below)

🌍 I ship worldwide via DHL—just message me if you're ordering from abroad and want to bring this system home to you.

Because being organized shouldn’t feel cold or corporate.

It should feel like you. Thoughtful. Warm. Feminine.

And deeply, unapologetically—in control.

Let’s return to the kitchen with confidence, darling.

You lead. The Pantry Ledger follows.

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
