Start the New Year Right with a Pen, a Plan, and a Little Bit of Magic ✨

There’s something almost sacred about the start of a new year.

Fresh pages. Blank slates. Quiet moments before the noise. That delicious pause before everything begins again. And for me, nothing captures that feeling more than sitting down with a planner, a handful of cute pens, and a heart full of soft intentions.

That’s exactly what I did recently—surrounded by Flying Tiger Copenhagen finds and my own “Love, Ink, and Sakura” weekly planners, letting myself plan for the year ahead the way I always wanted: gently, joyfully, and beautifully.

✍️ Planning Isn’t Just About Productivity

We all know the traditional reason for making plans: to get things done. But for someone like me—ADHD, perimenopausal, healing, evolving—planning is much deeper than that.

Planning helps me cope, recover, dream, and move forward without crashing. It gives my mind something to hold onto when the days feel foggy, and it protects me from falling into burnout. I don’t plan to rush; I plan so I can slow down with intention.

And that’s why the tools I use matter. Cute stationery may look like just “aesthetic,” but for me, it’s medicine. A beautiful pen, a soft planner, a pink sticky note—these are dopamine hits I need to function. They don’t just help me stay organized. They help me want to organize.

🛍️ My Flying Tiger Copenhagen Picks for an ADHD Dopamine Hit

I visited Flying Tiger Copenhagen before Christmas and fell in love with their lineup of cheerful stationery. Here’s what caught my eye:

Stackable bear-shaped highlighters – playful, glittery, and perfect for marking my wins (not just my tasks).

Erasable gel pens in 24 dreamy colors – I adore that they’re forgiving. Just like me. If I mess up, I can start over. No pressure.

Bear-shaped sharpener – because even the mundane should feel magical.

Foldable pastel organizers – the cutest way to keep things tidy on your desk.

Planner board - great for reminders, and yeah, that note on the bear is what caught my eye. I've been running on fumes since I got back from our vacation from all the orders.

Pencils and bear-print pens – because my inner child deserves to feel delighted every day. I've also recently fell in love again with pencils. I love how I can easily erase mistakes in my lists.

Organizer with elastic straps - I was attracted to this, but didn't know where to use it. Now I know. To organize my pens in my tote when we go out or travel.  It's thinner than my pencil case and lighter. I'm buying this the next time I see it.

And the prices? So affordable, especially for how charming and high-quality they are.

📓 My Love, Ink, and Sakura Planners

Of course, no planning session would be complete without my own creation: Love, Ink, and Sakura: A Weekly Planner.

This isn't your average planner.

It's soft. Gentle. Undemanding. It's designed for women like me who want structure without pressure. Who crave beauty and grace in their everyday tools. Who write down plans not just to “be productive,” but to take care of their mind and soul.

Every page is an invitation to reflect, reset, and refocus. You can use it once a week or every day—it flows with you. It doesn’t scold or overwhelm. It holds your thoughts like petals in springtime.

It’s my love letter to every woman who wants to live with more grace and less grind.

I'm blogging late today because I finished these 5 planners for a client.

Ready to ship tomorrow!

💖 Journaling Is My Love Language

I don’t journal daily. But I journal often—whenever my heart is full, my mind is scattered, or my spirit needs to hear my own voice again.

Journaling helps me check in with myself. It clears mental clutter. It catches beautiful moments before they disappear. It even helps me manifest my goals. There’s something powerful about putting pen to paper and seeing your thoughts take shape.

And when I journal using cute, high-quality stationery? I feel cared for. And I care for myself better, too.

🛒 Start Your Year with Beauty and Intention

If you're like me—someone who wants to step into the new year with peace, purpose, and a whole lot of sparkle—I invite you to do two things:

Treat yourself to some joyful tools. Surround yourself with items that make planning fun and journaling exciting.

Grab your own copy of “Love, Ink, and Sakura.” Let it hold your goals, dreams, and everyday thoughts in a soft, sacred space. You deserve that kind of support.

You don’t need to hustle. You just need to begin. Slowly. Softly. Intentionally. With tools that make you smile and pages that invite your dreams.

💌 Ready to Begin?

Tell me in the comments: what’s your dream for this year? What’s one small plan you’re excited about?

And if you're already using your own version of a Love, Ink, and Sakura planner—tag me or send me photos! I’d love to see how you're filling its pages.

Here’s to a beautiful, brave, and blooming year ahead. 🌸

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
