A Little Gem I Discovered at Watsons Vigan
If you can recall, my family and I took a trip to Vigan last year. This post has all the links to all the Vigan posts I wrote.
The day we explored Calle Crisologo, I also found a Watsons. And I’m always happy to discover a new Watsons branch.
I think this is the Plaza Maestro branch aka, Ancestral Watsons, as my son calls it.
Anyway, I showed pictures of the inside in one of my posts, if you’re interested. Just follow the link above,
Let’s go back to this hand cream.
You all know that I’m a little obsessed…okay a lot, with hand creams. My hands are very dry. I do a lot of chores and us them a lot for creating things as well, not to mention typing and writing. So, when I find a new hand cream that looks promising, I buy it.
Thus was the fate of these two Milk Yogurt Hand Creams.
Watsons Milk Yogurt Hand Cream
I’m currently using the blue one. It says it’s hydrolysed milk protein, amino acids, and vitamin E and even has extra milk. It’s also dermatologically tested. Sounds good already.
Hydrolyzed protein may sound like a complicated ingredient, but it’s actually one of those quiet little luxuries that makes a big difference in how your skin feels. It’s essentially protein that has been broken down into smaller pieces so it can sit more easily on the skin, forming a light, breathable layer that helps lock in moisture and keep your hands soft and smooth.
Instead of penetrating deeply, it works on the surface to support your skin barrier, which is especially helpful if your hands are frequently exposed to washing, paper, packaging, or environmental stress.
For someone like me—who deals with sensitivity, heat, and easily irritated skin—this kind of gentle protection is important because it helps prevent dryness and that tight, uncomfortable feeling without overwhelming the skin. It’s not a dramatic ingredient, but it’s a thoughtful one, quietly keeping your hands hydrated, comfortable, and soft throughout the day.
At the back, it says, “Nourish your skin with the creamiest French milk extract. Oh, I love French dairy. That’s another point.
True to its name, it does smell a little like yogurt. A floral yogurt blend, that is. It’s creamy, but non-sticky. It takes a while for my skin to absorb it, but it’s not irritating or annoying that you have to stop what you’re doing for a long time until it gets absorbed into your skin otherwise, everything you touch will get sticky.
The price was very affordable for a 60ml tube. I like the fact that it’s not in one of those skinny tubes that hand creams are known for. The packaging was unique and the colors, very pleasant. That’s what drew me to them.
I’ve used up a fourth of the tube and I can definitely say that it works! My skin loves it. I don’t get any adverse reactions from it. I can apply it at night and you have to understand that I don’t like applying product at night as the smell irritates my nose and wakes me up coughing and with a stuffed nose. It’s not very pleasant to wake up to, trust me.
But this one? I can tolerate. I just make sure that I apply it right after my shower and not right before I sleep.
Will I repurchase? Honestly, I haven’t seen this in any of the Watsons near me. But that’s okay because I still have a lot of hand creams to go through.
But if you do find this little gem in your neighborhood Watsons, might be worth a try.
