A While Back - How I Celebrated My Birthday: Flying Tiger Part 1

I got this Oat Milk bin

What better way to start the new season here at Glow by Lady E than with a celebration, no? So, for my first post, I’m going to give you a recap of my birthday back in February.

How did I spend my birthday? With my family, of course! We went to the mall. Different malls, actually. I know that doesn’t sound special, but what can I say? The mall makes me happy - gives me inspiration, unlocks ideas, and opportunities to meet new people. Some people want a grand vacation or a big party. I want the mall. It fuels me.

First Stop - Flying Tiger

One of my favorite places to find inspiration is Flying Tiger. I just love the arts and crafts items in this store.

Yes, I still keep taking photos of that pen organizer, but I didn’t buy. It’s too big for my tote. But I really like it.

It doesn’t mean that I have to buy an item even though I really like it.

Now these markers remind me of my son’s dabbers. I was thinking of buying these but I really don’t have the time to make some art, especially during that time when I took this photo. It was 2 weeks before PBF (Philippine Book Festival)! Plus trypophobia. It’s interesting that I didn’t get triggered by these images.

By the way, if you have trypophobia, DO NOT Google trypophobia because Google will show you some pretty triggering images. I tell you, it was nasty!

Look how adorable these pens are! You can give one to your bestie!

Now this is something new that I’ve seen in my local branch. They have accessories now? I am loving those lavender flower earrings! And look how affordable! These will make great stocking stuffers or Mother’s Day gifts!

I also wanted that pair on the left. But I didn’t get any that day because I still have a few earrings that I haven’t used yet.

I used to wear a lot of caps when I was a teenager and in my early 20s. I was a bit of a tomboy with my whole attire. 😁

These are cute, but not really practical. Well I guess you can use them to decorate your bag, but it’s too bulky for a key ring.

And beside the cute ribbon keychains are these foldable totes! And you know how I love me some totes!

More designs! I didn’t’ get any because..self-control. 😁

Now let’s talk about this big tote. If this came in a darker color, I would’ve picked it up instantly. Lucky for my wallet, it’s only in that shade. 😁

More accessories! Rings this time.

These are lovely pieces, but they will oxidize in not time with me. So, it’s really just a waste of money for me. But these are great gifts for any teenage girls in your life.

By this time, you can picture me holding on to my heart. I mean, look at how pretty those are… and the price?? $4.99 per set??

This makeup organizer is too UFO-ish for me. But it looks fun! I’m thinking you can give this to a teenaged girl who is into space and that kind of stuff.

These lockers.. oh.. I wish they had them in a different design. This is just too hippie for my taste.

Saw this one and showed it to my son. The idea is great, but in the real game, when you complete a line, that line disappears. Since this is analog, all you can do is fill it up. Kinda removes the excitement, doesn’t it?

And now to my favorite part of Flying Tiger..

Homeware

I have an obsession with tumblers and drinking glasses and cups. But I try my very best to rein it in. I have succeeded that day. 😏

I was thinking of getting these flower cup covers but I had one before and didn’t really use it that much. Or maybe it’s because they were boring? 😂

Oh, these mugs. But won’t those flowers hurt your face when you take a sip? I didn’t try. Just thinking out loud. 😁

I really love looking at homeware

I wanted to buy these rose ice trays, but didn’t have the budget that day. I was looking for things that I can use for my booth at PBF.

I like these Oat Milk erasers, but have no use for them. These are great for Easter baskets, though. Hmm… Maybe I will get some and assemble some Easter baskets for my godkids.

Another thing I’m obsessed with are pouches. You know this, Glow Girls! But, I had self control that day and didn’t get any.

Another thing that I’d like to always have on hand are these food bags. They’re just great for when I send food to my loved ones or give away treats.

And that ends Part 1 of this Flying Tiger adventure. I have more photos from my Flying Tiger outing, so stay tuned for Part 2!

Alone Time

My good friend Kitten and I were supposed to go out yesterday but she had some unexpected things come up. I needed to buy some stuff as I am packing for a trip and so I went alone. I actually enjoy going out alone as much as going out with girlfriends or MB. It gives me a chance to eat whatever I like to eat and explore new restos. It’s also nice to take my time when shopping. After paying my bills, I had a late lunch at Toast Box: I love Hainanese Chicken. I sometimes cook this dish but it’s too tedious so I settle for eating out. I’m so happy that there are now restaurants that serve proper Hainanese Chicken. Well, except that one above was sooooo bloody. It was swimming in blood when I pulled the meat apart so I had it changed. You know what Gordon Ramsay says, bloody chicken is poisonous. This is the second time I ate at Toast Box and in both times, the chicken was so bloody. After lunch, I started shopping. First stop was Beabi where I bought these: The Sakura thermos on...

Soft Luxe Travels: Day 1 - The Journey to Vigan Part 1

In this post, we will start our journey to Vigan! The Night Before After packing our things, I did a few things for myself to help me relax and decompress so that I can sleep. I'm a night owl and not used to waking up early nor sleeping early, so I have to be strategic.  I painted my nails that night after all my chores, so that the nail polish wouldn't chip.  However, I forgot that I needed to make pressed sandwiches for our breakfast the following day!  Because really, what’s a road trip mom without freshly painted nails and a last-minute kitchen hustle? 😂 So, I had to do a lot of washing and hoped for the best that my nail polish will not chip! Luncheon meat, eggs, Kewpie Trust me, it tastes better than it sounds at 11 PM while trying not to chip your polish. That night, we also tried the Ube Halaya from Amira's. This was from our trip to Tagaytay . I'll try to make a review of this on my food blog . With everything prepped, I finally let myself drift off—half excit...

Holiday State of Mind

Sometimes, a quick escape is all it takes to reset the spirit. Tagaytay always gives me that holiday state of mind… Even a short drive can feel like a retreat when your heart is ready to embrace rest. My son successfully finished his recital last Sunday and as a reward, my sister treated us to Tagaytay yesterday.  Getting Ready for the Trip I decided to use my BYS Golden Hour Palette for today's look. Makeup, for me, is part of the ritual—it sets the tone that today is special. Here are the swatches: From top to bottom: Polaroid, Candid, Aperture, In Focus, Portrait, Panoramic In Focus is slightly wet, like something between a liquid and cream eyeshadow. The color is gorgeous! I love Panoramic, too! Polaroid is a bit chalky and not as pigmented as the shadows in the Queen Bee Palette.  Here are the face shades: Highlighter: Illumination Contour: Ambiance I haven't tried Illumination yet, only Ambiance. I used it on top of my BYS Bronzer. It's a buildable powder, a littl...
